Very well... It is prudent in my mind that the card swap should be done at the end of turns anyway, I just don't want to force that yet because of my mistake with the Martha crew.

that would be very unfair

perhaps each ship  crew could try and set up an hour for their turn


edit: also, card swaps at the end of the turn? dont we get new cards at the start of the next turn

Here's the way I'm planning to do it after the dragontooth's turn. When a ship's turn begins I send out that ship's cards. And only for that ship, then that ship's crew takes it's turn with any card swaps at the end of turn.

 I would honestly rather that players could use the cards they have swapped out on the same turn, but I'm trying to optimize the game for forum play, it's slow enough as is apparently.

Don't you draw as many cards as it takes to get to 4, though? Wouldn't that make swapping identical to using it for no effect?

Anyway, if it's still my turn I use the card I got.

Kinda... except swapping has the limitation of only allowing you to swap cards you already have, so if you used two in a turn, you could only swap two at the end(if you are a captain of course). It was mostly a gameplay mechanic intended to reduce situations where a player is stuck with cards he doesn't want. And for the captain it is enhanced into a overall 'bag of tricks' ability, making captains more capable of reacting to events.

Anyway, if it's still my turn I use the card I got.

I then use evasive manuvers.

I'm assuming you mean fire one laser at the Martha, weapons calibration laser at the dragontooth, evasive maneuvers, and swap the other two cards?

No, each laser can only fire once per turn unless using the strafing run card. You can however fire each one at separate targets like you just did.
