I use Aimed Shot on the Martha's bridge.  I then fire on it again.
Then I use Evasive Manuvers.

Oh here comes pain...

Two shots blast Martha's bridge into a critical state, and even do a little more damage. This brings Askot down to 1 HP, and kills two of Spartan's redshirts.
 If askot manages to survive until his turn, he won't be able to use his captain cards until the bridge is repaired, but he has bigger things to worry about.

Finally, Canalan renews his evasive maneuvers.

As a clarification, even if a captain dies, the crew may continue fighting, they can seek revenge, or submit like spineless worms.(join enemy crew)
