I had a dwarf who got injured fighting troglodites. His injuries were a dented left leg and arm. So, he went to bed, and he's been asleep for the almost a year. People must be bringing him food and drink because he hasnt starved or anything.
He's no longer injured either, he has scars from his injuries though.
Also, his icon shows his military role as wrestler, even though I disbanded the squad, I'm not sure if that's normal or not since everyone else in the squad shows their non-military role icon.
So, what can I do?

Could be related to the bug where once squad has begun sparring, they will never again do any civilian work, even if the squad is disbanded.

So, if that's the case, the dwarf was recovering the injury, the squad was disbanded while the recovery was still in process, and now the dwarf is stuck in recovery mode.

Deconstructing the bed and putting it back might wake him up.

Great, I removed the bed and he woke up, but just stood there with a red cross icon flashing on him.
Then, a dwarf came in and dragged him to the next bedroom, where he's now sleeping. Again.
Forget about it, I think Kipi is right.

Do you have a chief medical dwarf?  The red cross flashing might be saying he's still wounded, even though it doesn't show up.

Try building a wall around him, and then leaving him in there forever.
