After starting a random adventurer, I traveled until I found a human town. The whole place was in ruins, and there seemed not to be anyone alive. I did find, however, quite an oddly-placed ramp in the middle of town. I went down, and found a 1-tile wide corridor with a door on it's end. Suspicious. I went through, and found a completely furnished human house, with wooden walls and all that, but 2 Z-levels below ground! In it, lived a friendly goat demon, apparently the last person alive in town. I asked him if he had any work for me, and he said:



I can picture a small town in ruins, where a giant humanoid goat lives inside a hole in the ground, welcoming passersby and telling them to stop talking with him, so that they can start talking with him.

Kinda weirded me out.

Obviously, there is his good twin somewhere in the city. This one has a goatee.

A small fun fact: the goatman has only four kills under his name, but they're all cyplops(es?), defeated on the same year. He also has no legs, since the first cyclops smashed them. He also entered duels with over 30 other semimegabeasts, including ettins, minotaurs, and so on. His last kill, somewhat coincidentally, was the cyclops that had crushed his legs. Apparently they met again after 20 years or so to settle the matter.

Wow...interesting find. Seems to be one of those noble demon rulers, maybe it's sanity snapped when all its human friends were massacred and it was the only survivor.

Mmm, maybe you should check out the legends and make a thorough research on just what actually happened to the town...maybe some survivors just fled elsewhere.

Oh! can we also see some of the screens regarding the demon, it's town and the events?

Actually it seems to be quite common for demons/megabeasts/forgotten beasts to take over towns, after all the goat demon is the "law-giver" which suggests he probably convinced everyone he should be their leader, then the town was most likely attacked over and over again by random megabeasts, killing off all the townsfolk but died when they fought him!.

Goat demon kicks ass.
