I know what you mean.  My planet is Near-Ocean, as it only has a few scarce land areas.

I think we should try to remake this game as a play by post forum game.  The voting and concessions mechanics would translate very well and they are probably the most crucial game mechanics.  We could abstract combat into a single conflict roll each turn for each continent which determines how many cities the winner takes from the loser.  Random exploration could be simulated by random terrain generation.  And we wouldn't need to wait for everyone to do their turns in sequence...

I've never played the escape from earth mod, and being in two Dominions games and two EFS games, I can't promise I'll always have the turn out quick, but I'd be willing to fill in if needed.
