I can't get the spoken part near the end to work right so far though.
I usually skip that part when I'm singing it.

Whew, glad to know I'm not the only one having problems with that part.

alternate chorus, just for fun. maybe have it be a verse a random drunken dwarf sings instead, near the end.

stand on your axe, fight with your sock,
the mountain king gave birth and got killed by a croc!
Oh, mud on my salt cod, more blood on my smock!
sat on my ass and chewed on a block!

As a request:

May i put this song into the Grimoire of Armok? as the offical drinking song of the dwarfs and the blood god?

Ill mention in the credits in the book all who deserves it for its creation, its just that this song is too good to pass up.

Question: How does everyone think the difference between dwarfish and elvish voices should be sung? In the song itself, it's the difference between acoustic guitar and a flute. Should the elf voice be sung in a mocking higher pitch?

Damn, you beat me! I was going to record something this week. I'm trying to hammer out the recording bugs now. Does anyone know how to play one track while recording onto another track in audacity? I've been trying to play the song on my media player and then singing into the microphone to record onto the computer, but it's horribly synchronized.

Tried listening to the song with headphones, then Recording vocals (at same time). Then merge the two audio files?

Its what I used to do and that was with .wav files using the sound recorder that came with XP. Now I've been checking this topic out for a bit, And I'd love to contribute but Im not good at accents.

The problem is that I can't get the program to both play the audio and record audio at the same time. I have to use two separate programs for that, and the time it takes me to hit "play" and "record" makes it really hard to have the voice matched up to the song.

Truth be told, I don't really know how to do that accent. It's been a very long time since I've heard a scottish-dwarvish accent, so I don't have a very good idea of what, exactly, it sounds like. I think I'm going to ignore the accent and just try to use filters to make my voice sound more grizzled. If I can figure out how to do that, that is. Is anyone here good at editing audio files?

So... reading week's over and I don't have a recording to put up. The one recording I managed to save is pretty bad, since it was just a test. It has too many mistakes to submit it.

Merging the audio files was a pretty finicky process, and I haven't found a way to really expedite the process. Oh well.

Is a double post acceptable in this circumstance? I'm several years removed from being an active forum user.

If I had a microphone...

My Dorf voice sounds like a cross between Sean Connery and Christopher Lee.
