You're right, we should stop hating on someone who's writing a book that will make her big fat wads of cash, more than I'll see in ten years at my current job, she's just doing what she feels she should. /notsarcasm/sarcasm

I agree with this statement in a non-sarcastic way.  She's selling a product people want to buy.  You don't have to read it.  Obsessing about how much a bad book sucks is just as irritating as the fangirls obsessing about how much they love it.

Most people can study up, and become a banker or investor. Other people can hit the gym and get stronger. Aside from plastic surgery there's not much you can do about your physical attractiveness.

There are many many professions in the world that people don't take seriously. Sewer workers, bin men, janitors, etc. The difference being that they actually have jobs entailing more than just looking pretty.

Also: everyone objectifies models because their job is to be sex objects.

You know. I'm finding Cthulhu actually pretty much says what I'm going to say most of the time. Good to know someone else is getting annoyed with people complaining about stuff they don't have to even deal with if they don't want to.

It's not the fact that it's a bad book, it's the fact that for every bad writer that gets a job because they're famous, a good writer goes unpublished.

Also: posting on a forum to tell people they're annoying you because they're posting on a forum to say something else annoys them... :P

I would really like to see what she can write that has nothing to do with modelling. I mean, I'm not interested in modelling, so I'm not interested in this book. There are so many classics to read, much less the new stuff coming out, that you can't afford to waste your time.

But to read a fantasy novel written by someone who is totally outside that, might be interesting.

Sure, if I get burned by that a couple times I'd stop sticking my neck out like that. But we're talking $5 from a used bookstore and two or three afternoons, so it's not that big of a deal.

Somehow I feel like I'm supposed to know who this person is.

Not really, just that she's sexy.

Anyway, the only thing that really annoys me is how much money she'll make with a small amount of effort. It just gets me kinda irked when I have trouble just keeping up, and she can make so much money by writing a book about coming of age, you know?

And here I thought the tower of shit that has been built over the years by George RR Martin, Robert Jordan, and Terry Goodkind couldn't get any taller.

Looks like we're going to the moon, fellas.

Uh, I watch America Next Top Model and I watch her Talk Show. So I advert the trope.

Most people can study up, and become a banker or investor. Other people can hit the gym and get stronger. Aside from plastic surgery there's not much you can do about your physical attractiveness.

I think this is unfair. Some models, sure but majority of models job is to display and advertise what they are wearing. Sex appeal is a part of it, but not the sole goal.

After watching American Next Top Model, you can get a good sense of what makes a good model.

 Not really.

The point of the models is to show off the dress. The models don't really matter that much so long as they can do what the cameramen wants them to do and they don't damage the clothes. This is the industry standard.

Oh man, this.

I seriously value the firemen, the sewer workers, the garbage men, people working for the electric company or our town's Internet system. Honestly they each do more for me in one day, every day, than every supermodel put together over the course of my entire life.

I like to think that, because of the "Oooh, shiny/sexy!" principle, supermodels exist to distract people who would otherwise get in the way of important work.
