Look, Tyra, I know modeling is your thing and I'm cool with you sticking with it. But mayhaps you are taking it a little too far? I mean, not everything you contribute to society needs to be about modeling.

Agreed. If she wants to write fantasy books, good on her, we need more authors. But the whole modelling thing is just plain old moronic.

Celebration and empowerment of women my hairy British arse.

And this, my friend, will lead to eventual downfall of artistic capabilities as we know them.

Anyway, the first word I saw was Modelland.
Then I closed the spoiler and will never mention this again.

I don't know how she became convinced this was a good idea for a book.

Tyra Banks has inspired me to fulfil my life-long dream of writing a fantasy-setting about a hair-stylist who is enlisted into the Dragon Wars. With only a pair of scissors, a small blade, and can of shaving cream, and his trusty band of best friends, he will face the perils of coming of age

Meh, I already wrote a story about a wangsty teenage girl who gets teleported to a fantasy world, finding out that she's the chosen one and princess of the kingdom and thrust into a battle of epic proportions between the pure and just forces of good and the unholy forces of evil.
I published it on LiveJournal.

Hmm... there was also some crazy model/actress/something with a PhD in math and a major theorem named after her, who wrote what seems to be a rather craptastic book...

Yeah, her.

Bloody ridiculous, if you ask me.  I heard about it on NPR, and the chapter on integers is focused around breath mints and kissing guys.  Yes, that's right.  Mintegers.  Yeargh.

Do note that she beats the great evil through a modeling contest. And through being herself and having sass and playing the part and showing her true self and struttin' 'it', she wins.

That interview'd person seems to have good intentions, but with all the burdens of media mixed in with it. It's sort of an 'if you can't be em, join em' approach. I'd say it's good for the girls who thrive in that gender stereotype, and the ones with more sense will look at that and scoff
