They will probably be very pleased with Portal, then. How desensitized are we that we think this isn't violent?

Also, GLaDOS reminds me of Vector for some reason.

Ah, but YOU are not PERSONALLY inflicting violence on HUMANS. Yes, you get shot at and incinerated, either drown or perish in a portal gun malfunction, get blasted in half by energy pellets and possibly something else I forget. The walls are caked with your blood. But, you don't get to murder anything that looks like a human. Hence, no violence.

Yeah, portalling stationary gun turrets down stairs isn't an especially convincing form of "violence." They shoot you, sure, and there's certainly conflict, but it's pretty tame for the most part.

But really though, anyone who doesn't have orange box by now is pretty much living under a rock and/or truely cannot call themselves gamers. $30, and comes with portal, TF2, and HL2 (all 3 released parts).

Or just doesn't really like FPS games much.

Portal is pretty interesting, though I'm not having any difficulty with it so far.

Yeah, I never found it to be "difficult" in the traditional sense. More of the standard "difficult puzzle" variety where you'd occasionally stand there and scratch your head for a second, then carry on.

I did have a bit of difficulty remembering that time and space were my bitch now, though. Stumbled over a few parts trying to complete them in traditional manner, rather than making where I was and where I wanted to go the same place in two clicks.

Thanks. I didn't get Orangebox because I've bought HL2 and CS:Source before for 3$ and I didn't feel like spending 30$ to get a game extra. Thanks for the news.

And they absolve you of any guilt as you disable them. (Some of my favorite dialogue in the game, actually.)

I didn't get the Orange Box for the same reason I never got Halo or Age of Empires.

Too expensive.

Yes. Clearly a bug that ought to be fixed in the future, but exploit it in the meantime.

What? You could panhandle for a few days and get the money for them.

And yet, that only makes me feel guiltier.

You could panhandle for a few minutes to get Age of Empires.

A lot about what Glados does is actual psychology or references to real experiements. Which is interesting (Even the Companion Cube is oddly enough, one...)

Though it is often ignored, Glados seems to emotionally connect with your character.
