we have nothing to cross the river. we should first get a decent boat, so we can travel back and forth and trade with the rest of the world

General Gist:after recovering from being stunned...
I grab leatherman from drawer.
I crawl under my desk .
I put on the jacket.
I notice hatchet and hammer and grab them both.

"Am I in the dwarven halls? I didn't think you could embark there. Who are all of you?"

Anyone going to fill me in/pool resources? Or should I just start trying to trade some of my stuff for a pack animal once I figure out what's going on. I don't want to leave my precious desk or its contents, and they would leave me rather encumbered.

I agree with your assessment. Except that dogs should come before seeds. We can gather seeds.
if by "axe" you mean my terrible hatchet... well, barely.
and if by "pick" you mean my "pointy prospector's hammer" or whatever it's called... well, that's hopeful thinking.
I have clear glass items, however. They may be tradeable!

The island is an endgame area. As to how to get there, let's just say there's going to be no goblins in this world after your done, eh? Or dwarves, possibly. Or both, you could just... Wait, I'm not saying any more.

Right, I trade some of my pen/cils and paper for a real pick.
Someone needs to be smart.
Also, can I pick up (or make) some splints and crutches? I have a feeling we will need them.
