Yeah, the video featured a song they almost certainly didn't have the copyright to broadcast, and I seriously doubt any company actually wants it's material associated with the response to the issue.  I made the link into a generic search.

I think that's a smokescreen. I had a video of mine flagged for copyrighted music once (It has 42 views, half of which are me showing it to people, so it is highly likely somebody I knew in real life flagged my video for copyright infringment) and they just stripped the sound and gave me a list of stock music of various genres I could use instead. Which I guess is useful if you're making a homage to a video game character or something, but not so great for my deadly swordfight.

Just going to point this out, maybe undermine the people who are saying this is the parent's fault. The kids actually picked the music and the dance because they saw it here

You say its wrong, parents say it's not, kids don't care and we're back where we started.

Lo and behold, it's a contensious issue with no clear beginning or end and which no one can agree on what they're seeing.  I didn't bring it up to find an answer, I just felt it should be acknowledged.

I suppose it's also possible this "YAK Films" company actually owned the video itself and doesn't want it distributed or hosted.  Too late of course, but I have no idea how this stuff works.

It's probably easier for the artists to render the outfits than the fur.

Not easy labour-wise, but easy on their souls.

But then they don't appeal to the surprisingly large furry market.

I don't think furries would watch that.  Just bored parents needing something loud and squeeky to throw at their children so they'll shut up for a while.

Also, damn you to the lowest pits of Hades for getting me to watch that video.  Oh God my ears...

No, see, they won't watch that because there's so much more stuff out there that won't deafen them and drive them to murderous rage.

I'm willing to bet those goddamnfuckingvoicesgoddamn can sweep aside fetishes and unite all in pure, harmonious raeg.

Besides, furries can already go to Phael or fchan or whatever's still online and get all the Chipettes they want at probably better quality than that.

And yeah, once again, those kids were considerably more skanky than that movie.  That was more bellydancing than flashdancing.  Knowing the girls basically picked out the costumes might be even more worrying (to me anyway), because they decided to and knew how to kick it up a notch, and their parents and everyone involved in the pageant just couldn't say no.

Ghostrider.  That's all there is to say on the matter.

And yeah, Battlefield Earth was almost hilariously bad.  For an even better trip, try reading the novel.  I still remember back in 2007, during the big presidential primary race: all the candidates were interviewed by a magazine, and were asked what their favorite book was.  Most took the utterly safe and necessary answer - "The Bible".  Only Mitt Romney had the security to answer for real, and he said Battlefield Earth.  Kudos, but what the fuck?

This might be a little off topic, but I think that presidential candidates saying openly that their favorite book is the Bible is far more alarming and dangerous to society than any number of overesexualised dance routines.

Gosh, presidential candidates saying that the Bible is their favorite book in a country where an overwhelming percentage of the population are Christians. I am shocked. This is my shocked face.

I'd start getting worried when Obama calls for a crusade. Until then, don't flamebait; it makes you look like an ass.

They have to otherwise they wouldn't get votes. America still considers itself Christian even if only in name. Thats why I predicted, correctly I might add, that we'd have a black, woman, or mentally handicapped president before we had an admitted non-Christian president. So far we've had the black and the mentally handicapped back to back even.

Shit, they're arguing right now that the Supreme Court is unbalanced because it's only staffed by Catholics and Jews, and it just wouldn't be American without a Protestant.

But seriously, I was shocked.  Of all the books in all the world, when asked "favorit book evar?", Battlefield Earth was the first name to come to mind of Mitt Romney, a man distinguished from a clothes mannequin only by subscribing to a religion that forbids caffeine.

Yes, the problem is that religion is considered an important characteristic of a potentional president (or other important or not-so-important political figures) in the US. Mind you, I don't really care that much what people believe in and hell, if you need to go to church, that's your problem, but making religion an important part of government (even symbolically... "one nation, under God" - which was only added to the pledge in 1954, mind you) never has and never can lead to anything but trouble.
