Wich tileset are you using? Atm I'm using your gold tileset (I'd like to take a turn if thats ok.)  But the easiest way to go about this mod'd succession would be to upload the whole thing, Game, save, everything.  Name it something like Dwarf Fortress,  Angkor Vath.

Posting from exam room. Tentatively name any dwarf "HeyGuys", I'll take the next available year. I'll look into the mod pack afterwards.

Most of them (at least usable ones) are in the Excel file which documents all plants too.

Also I will end my turn soon, it's mid-winter.

Expect a lot of fun without any mechanisms... Also we have a SINGLE BLOCK YAY. I used it to build a wood furnace (to make charcoal), then smelter (to smelt some bought from traders metal items), then forge (so now our two melee guys have decent armor, which is made of different metals...), now I turn it into wood funace again. So many fun >.<

And did I mention that we have two melee guys and one archer already? No mechanisms -> no traps/drawbridge -> military is NEEDED.

Right now I train them in dodging and axe using. Also I've managed to smelt one iron axe. Now I need to find iron_something to smelt and turn into a second axe. An archer needs a crossbow too, right now I train him in dodging in my Obstacle course. Dodging is one of the most important combat skills.

I will name the military commander Heyguys. He's also the only dwarf with a real weapon besides miners. He's got an iron axe and wears full chainmail armor (made from copper, bronze, iron and bismuth bronze :().

I've ordered raw stone from traders so the next guy (Ikbenbram), BUY ALL STONE THEY BRING :). Then use it for mechanisms but not for traps, but for screw pumps to drain aquifier. Once we breach it, we will have THE PRECIOUS STONE.

You never know how precious the stone is until you are in a situation without ANY.

It's a late winter and I cannot configure military properly. I've spent half season to do it... Heyguys wears TWO MAIL SHIRTS and he doesn't want to take them off no mater what. Well at least I've found a cool shortsword for the second guy, but it looks like he doesn't get his mail shirt...

Im under windows, and i just tried getting excel, it screws up my comp >.<  Bad xD  Plus for most people to use it it costs 200$+ >_>  Hate m$

Things to note:

- Look at DFMA map and note points of interest

- Read notes which I put everywhere

- There's a boar cheese industry running. While that's not a lot, it still works.

- There're cave turtles, wait until they make some children before butchering. They are useful for their meat and (most important) shells.

- All dwarves are assigned to "guilds" with appropriate tasks enabled.

- We have a good herbalist, don't forget to assign new plots for plant gathering.

- Buy all stones the merchants bring, we need to pierce the aquifier and we need to make mechanisms for that.

- We have a dungeon keeper assigned so if elves arrive with exotic animals, buy them ASAP and tame/train them.

Military:

- Heyguys and Ineth are fine; but the archer guy (2nd squad) needs to equip bolts, you have to figure out how to make it.

- Heyguys trains with axe, Ineth trains with sword. All of them (plus the archer guy) train dodging at obstacle courses.

- There're two war dogs extra (in addition to two chained at entrance). If someone bad happens, assign them to Heyguys and Ineth before activating them.

Dorfpower? Hook the pumps directly to power? The only time you NEED stone to get stone is for forging a pick.
