Crazy Awesome Forgotten Beasts
« on: May 11, 2010, 10:59:49 pm »

I'm sure there's already a million threads like this here, but they've long since died, so no use in necroing them.

So I STILL haven't gotten around to actually making a fort, but I've made a world in preparation for when I get the cable to hook up my TV-monitor and read a few entries in Legends mode. I also dicked around in the test arena a bit and I can tell you right now it is a dream come true for me. THANK YOU TOADY! /danhibikiteary-eyedfistpump So while browsing the historical figures section, I ran across my list of forgotten beasts. One stood out among all the others I have read thus far: Mebzuth. Sorry about the crappy trimming on the window and the Imageshack host, I'm not a graphic artist by any means.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

As a side note, a lot of my forgotten beasts appear to be emaciated and are associated with water and/or caverns.

So I have a giant, purple, anorexic-looking, spider bear with hair like that of a member of Limozeen and an unwavering stare that could put Weegee to shame that appears to be the inspiration for Guantanamo Bay. (Too soon!) I'm pretty sure this is why Toady added the physical description code into the game.

Please share your rediculously awesome forgotten beasts here. Oh MAN I wish I could draw. This thing would be my new desktop wallpaper.

Oh, if not for running a fortress I'd dig through my legends, as well!

An anorexic, web-weaving panda-spider with violet hair... that truly sounds horrifying. :o I pray you never meet this abject horror in your journeys to the depths!

I'm purposely misinterpreting this...

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

A huge bloated ass twisted into a humanoid form. Immature, but I laughed at this for a while.

An ass that's linked to poetry, inspiration, and painting, but also lies.

Yeah, seems about right.

My fort was attacked by a giant emaciated web-spitting winged man made of vomit. I honestly can't decide if I really want to see art of it or if I really don't.

Sure, made a topic for it in the modding section Here. http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=57228.0

Someone should probabaly add it to the wiki (I wouldnt know how to do that).

Huzzah! Upon digging a pit -- adorned with fearsome statues of flame demons and goblins getting hacked to pieces -- for my troll and goblin captives to meet their maker at the bottom of a dank, watery cavern system, I met my first forgotten beast!

The forgotten beast Itvid has come! A great beakless osprey. It has a pair of squat antennae and it undulates rythmically. Its pine green feathers are fluffed-out. Beware its poisonous vapors!

Well. Quite terrifying. However, I suspect the fact that some trolls swim won't be a problem after all.
