The notion that european swords are blunt and heavy is rather well debunked.

As far as being blunt is concerned, edges were utilitarian at about 35 degrees to better endure impacts against armor and bone. More than one person has presumed a historical edge blunt after pressing his thumb against it, then lacerated themself to microsurgery when they drew their thumb along it.

Also, Knight vs Samurai arguments on /tg/ are the opposite of interesting.  They're like every other argument on the internet.  Two sides with no interest in actually accomplishing anything trot out the exact same set of arguments and then butt heads until one side leaves or moderators step in.

Even knowing this, it's taking an incredible amount of willpower to say who I think would win (Read: Who I know would win)

There was at least one type of european sword that used a blunt edge and sheer weight to harm it's opponents as good as any sharp sword. The zweihander, I think. Nope, just checked. Not the zweihander.
