You can run it however you want.

To add screenshots, just take the screenshot (ALT+PRTSCRN), save to paint (or whatever image software you use), and place on photobucket. Easycakes.

Do a Fall From Heaven 2 LP, or another of the sci-fi / fantasy mods. (I think we already had a FFH2 one, didn't we?)

If you've already played the game, they spice it up quite a bit with the magic system etc. See if you can disable the Sheiam though (or at least disable pyre zombies, god damn bastards) as they tend to dominate the entire game towards the end.

...God damn pyre zombies.

Play Final Frontier. It's a Space mod that comes with Beyond the Sword.

Either this or Planetfall (A mod which is basically SM Alpha Centauri for Civ IV).

The best LP is going to be one where YOU'RE interested in doing the next segment. If you want control, do what you want, explaining your logic can be an interesting read. If you want community direction, then just ask for a suggestion now and then. Keep in mind that Civilization, like most 4X games, is a shallow-slippery-slope sort of game. You really need to stay focused on your goals, otherwise you'll fall ever so slightly behind, dooming your victory hundreds of turns before the axe will ever fall.

Also, horse archers. Conquer the world with horse archers. :)

I have to question your judgement when it comes to putting Hastings in the middle of that icy tundra which will produce nothing.

Looks pretty awesome. I loved Civ4, until my copy got a bad case of the WTFs. Meh. It works.

Lumber means nothing, and hunting isn't worth the maintenance.

Oh god, the maintenance.

Hastings is in a really bad spot, I would've skipped it in favor of just settling Nottingham in the first place, but it's not unrecoverable. I see archers and chariots in production, Horseback Riding might grant a faster return-on-investment than Iron Working, especially with a city to retake.

BUT! I reiterate my previous advice: an empire runs on its emperor. You might find copper in that hilly NE region. You might uncover iron on your very doorstep. You might have enough manpower to just march on Nottingham and take it right back. Don't underestimate the potential of mobilizing your city defenders, a barbarian city-state that close to your borders this early could devastate your empire, especially since you've lost the Great Wall! Without such protection from the savage hordes, you need to expand early, and as often as your budget will allow. Otherwise, the Germans will head east as soon as they are able, and you'll be destined to a footnote in their history books as "those guys with funny northern accents who got annexed when we founded Judaism."
