Ok, so this one is really interesting. I found it yesterday and played it till 4:00 am this morning. Its great combination of tower defense and steampunk fps shooter. It has a free demo so i recommend you to try it out...beware it gets really intense on higher difficulties. The full game is also really cheap like 6 bucks.

As a most coop game played with strangers it lacks true cooperation, and this game really needs cooperation to not get owned. So its better to play with friends.

..and btw its one of those games where loosing is fun!

Man, the original HL2 mod was so much better than this.

This is basically a severely dumbed down version of Iron Grip: The Oppression where all the players are now fighting retarded AI instead of a single RTS player.  It's really quite sad.

That's not to say of course that this game isn't any fun.  Especially if you haven't played Iron Grip: The Oppression.  It actually is fairly entertaining.

The only thing that was ever any good in Iron Grip, both mod and retail, was the art direction. Everything else was either mediocre and done better by other mods or downright blowed.

I really wanted to like the original mod but it had no playerbase, the animations were bad, the graphics were HL1-quality (even if the style was badass), the sound was crazy loud, the AI was bad, and it was just overall a very bad game.  I never thought they'd actually release Warlord.

Isn't there a sourcemod with zombies that has the same style? One player commands the zombies, the others try to survive?

Zombie master

I agree with Ioric Kittencuddler that one player should control attackers. The weak point is that one stupid or griefer-like player can then destroy the game for others and they wanted to go comercial with this so they chose AI controled enemy.

Which sadly still sort of ruined the game, though not to quite the same extent as the occasional griefer could have.

Bought this today, and downloading now. It looks pretty fun, though I'm kind of worried because I doubt I have any friends who would want to play this, and a lot of people have mentioned this is best with friends :(

The trouble with Zombie Master was that the zombie player was meant to play it as a game, instead of acting like a Game Master. "LOL I CAN WIN AS ZOMBIE MASTER ^^". It wasn't exactly hard to win, you just had to do really cheesy things like drop girders on people's heads and spam the most difficult zombies at the end of the game.

I've heard a lot of people saying nasty things about Zombie Master, and I will agree with comments about it being severely unpolished, imbalanced, and downright buggy at times.

I still love it to pieces though.  If you happen to get on a nice server with good people who are in it to have a good time?  It's absolutely stunning.  It's also the place that led to me hearing about Dwarf Fortress, so there's that.

As far as Warlord is concerned, I downloaded the demo a long time ago.  Quite interesting, I have to say.  Managed to have a bit of fun after losing my first three games against the computer (I was playing singleplayer exclusively).  Eventually it got to the point where I was able to hold off a 'hard'-level assault almost singlehandedly (due to the incredible unhelpfulness of the AI on my team).  Quite the juggling act, I must say, and rather intense.

Not the best game I've played, certainly, but it's worth trying out.  Had some good times with the demo.

Played the demo, concept art style is very interesting, in game artwork, not so much. The map was rather confusing with no landmarks for orientation and the weapon choices felt rather hollow with "bigger gun" "even bigger gun" "still bigger gun that requires setup" "limited ammo ubergun" and the like.

the game is fucking hard, and fucking fun.

The gameplay speed is just right, you are always on the edge of defeat on hard difficulty and higher.

upgrading your character is nice.

graphics are like 2001 ish, but fuck i dont care, the gameplay is fun. and the game is only 8 bucks on steam.

fuck yea. my buddy bought it for me, in a 4 pack and we are all playing now.
