Turn 5. Blind shots.

Attack!
[5]: Despite not seeing anyone yet, you fire into the forest. And something blows up, you feel like you have just killed around 10 people.

Thank Nimitz, then fire Battlerifle at enemy infantry. (if it is possible from Lookout)
[2]: Huh? Whats happening again?

Meet any of the ones who come out with a rain of minigun bullets.
[2]: Ehhhh?

Haha! My luck is turning! I grab my super laser, and open fire with my battle rifle from the lookout.
[5]: You grab your laser and open fire with your battlerifle, despite not seeing anything. Something explodes, you feel like you have just killed around 10 people too.

Repeat last action with more success and call to a teammate for help if I can't get out.
[6]: You roll on grenades, all the way to the lookout, and promptly fly though the opening to outside the bunker.

Now that I've managed to wake up my comrade, I head back to my position and open fire on those damn Confederates.
[6]: You fire randomly, a bunch of things explode, you feel good. Then you feel really bad, you think you have just killed some friendlies...

Fire on Confederates with battle rifle (+1 aim, -1 damage)
[1]: You fumble around with your rifle, and fire at your feet.

Damage [4]: You aren't bleeding, but your right foot hurts like heck.

KILL. SHRED. DESTROY.
Leave [5]: You leave the armory, EPICALLY!

[4]: That bush seems like it's moving.

Detection [4]: Hey! It's a confed!

Aim [1]: You lost him.

Try to find gear to block up windows and doors
[2]: You look around, the lookout is empty, aside from a few small things like the radio.

NPC rolls.

Friendly.

Anti-aircraft roll:[5]: They wipe out all of the fourth wave. Wow.

Enemy.

Droppod roll:[1]: There is no fifth wave.

???1 [3]: You hear noises.

???2 [1]: You hear pained shouts.

???3 [6]: Someone shoots at you! Though missing everyone.

Er, a small nitpick. How could I have gotten a 1 if I had +1 aim from the battlerifle?
Anyways, I fire at the guy who's firing at us.

DON'T YOU QUESTION THE GAME MAKER!

Yes, I forgot that, I was too eager to get the turn done. Though it makes not much of a difference. Fixed

Edit, it was not an aim roll. So it needs no fixing.

Well shit. I got a little too excited there, it seems. Oh well. "Keep up the fire! Do not let a singe confederate breach the perimeter!"
I continue to defend the bunker from the lookout.

Er, I thought shooting was an aim roll. After all, what is shooting but aiming and pulling the trigger?

In that case, what is aiming, then, and how do I do it?

In that case, what is aiming, then, and how do I do it?

Ok, let me clarify, aiming is a sepperate roll with "Aim [num]:" instead of just "[num]" in it. look at these old turns for examples.

After determining that this wave consists of only infantry, I stow my super laser and locate a target to fire on with my battle rifle.
[6]:You drop your laser, you can't seem to find it anymore, darn. But you get your Battlerifle and look for a target.

Search:[4]:You quickly realize that the only targets are in the air, but that won't stop you!

Aim:[1-1+1=1]:You give up, there's no way you are going to hit them.

Head to the lookout and start blasting enemies with my battle rifle
[6]:These pods are going to die!

Aim roll:[5-1+1=5]:Perfect hit on one of the pods!

Damage:[3]:It's trailing smoke!

The roll without a word in front of it is a 'succeed' roll, it determines generally how your turns will go. So if your succeed roll is really good, you will likely have a bonus to your other rolls, like aiming, but if it's bad, then you waste your turn, or something bad happens.

That... seems a bit excessive... I think we should have better than a 1/9 chance to succeed (without shooting teammates or whatnot) at shooting something. When you have three or even more rolls to succeed, and every one has to roll well in order for it to work, the game just isn't that fun anymore.

You'd rather have me roll only one dice?

Everyone seems to like to do multiple actions, and that makes me have to do multiple rolls, would you rather have me roll only one dice and have someone who says:
"Leave X and Pick up V and fire V at Z" to be, for example:

[5] You leave X and pick up V, you blow up Z up, and W.

or

[3] You leave X.

[5] You pick up V like a pro.

[2] You fail to fire it at Z, however.

I like to roll more dice because it gives me more unique turns, rolling only one will give me very narrow results. You don't like it, you don't have to play. There are plenty of other RTDs out there. Heck, you could make your own.

And besides, RTDs are about randomness, what RTD is an RTD without randomness?

I like multiple dice for multiple actions. What I don't like is this:
Quote
shoot that dude
5. You successfully put your finger on the trigger.
5. You successfully pull the trigger.
4. The gun doesn't jam, and the bullet is fired.
4. The air is still. The bullet flies true.
5. The other soldier does not duck just before you shoot.
3. A freak earthquake occurs! The soldier falls down and you miss. What a shame.

I realize that's an exaggeration, but the point is that once a game gets to the point where you have to roll several dice to succeed at anything, it becomes kind of boring as you fail over and over again.

So, you want it this?
Quote
shoot him!
[5] Your bullets fly at his face. (+1 to rolls)
[1+1=2] You don't hurt him though.
/
Quote
shoot him!
[1] You shoot you friend.
[4] You don't wound him.

Or even more simplified like this?
Quote
shoot him!
[5] You blow his, and his friend's head off.
/
Quote
shoot him!
[1] You shoot your friend instead, he's bleeding badly.

Second. Though, of course, if the majority likes first I will defer to them.

And, of course, it doesn't really matter what I like. You are the boss here, and I must play by your rules. I'm simply suggesting a rule change that I think will make the game more enjoyable.
