Forgotten beast in human town?

Not hostile. Seeming to be an actual member of the community. I've been tasked to kill it.

EDIT:
I attacked it. It killed me in short order.

Elves do it in trees. Humans do it in wooden structures. Dwarves? Dwarves do it underground. With magma.

It's very common. The beasts trick the humans into believing that they are the physical incarnations of their gods, and assume power.

If you get a quest to kill one the entire civ goes berserk, usually including the guy who gave you the quest.

I THOUGHT this guy looked familiar while I was killing him... I was pleasantly surprised when I checked the coins in my pocket afterwards.

I had this.  Zethsum, law-giver or something to that effect.  Fucking cool title really, 'law-giver'.  I killed him through blood loss before being shot in the upper lip with a crossbow bolt and bleeding out, somehow.

I'm not sure if that's a FB or you got demons mix up with them.
seeing how demons are the ones who pretend to be gods in civs than the FB who just roam the land.

When I posted that, I hadn't spoilered myself about the randomly-generated demons, so I had no idea. Closest I'd seen was a forgotten beast.

I saw that description, and thought, "Why would anyone worship that thing?"

And then I realised.

Because it would eat your soul.

Apparently having a redundant creature entry causes the game to say, "Oh, look, it's crazy world now. Nothing makes sense! Alligators live in houses!"
