Dwarf: the whole point of serrating a blade is to make it not good for the flesh. It kind of makes it hurt more, and if it gets stuck, that is a major morale hit.

You should think about the fact that if you injure one of them, the rest are going to have even more reason to fuck you up. This isn't a "fuck up one and the rest will fear you" sort of situation, it's a "fuck up their buddy and they'll be out for blood" one.

In my junior year of high school, I forgot to clamp some sheet metal down on the drill press before drilling it. It missed gutting me by millimeters.

In my senior year, I built a laser engraver that had the cutting beam pointing at the operator. Luckily, it never got enough out of alignment to miss the mirror.

I think jousting is illegal because of the danger to the horses.

Probably wrong, though, I heard it from some guy who was obsessed with ren. fairs and hated jousting about 8 or 9 (maybe even 10) years ago.

Well in California I'd say it isn't but then I remember at the ren faire I worked at there was a joust but only in terms of going down the course and aiming for various targets that wern't living things so I'm not sure.

I never really had that daredevil spirit, of course theirs a couple accidents like riding on the twine box of a square hay baler, it hit a bump I fell and managed to grab this cross bar and got dragged a fair bit...  if I hadn't had held on the hay wagon behind it would of ran me over.

This was when I was but a wee lad.

I would guess only if you apply the thermite post-ignition. Then it would be a steam bomb. I'm not sure how it would react if you did it with thermite on the ice already.

On one video, they put the thermite in a flower pot above the giant block of ice, and it melted down and made a big boom.

(Molten thermite flew everywhere).
