My dwarves worship Papa Nurgle.
« on: May 10, 2010, 09:39:58 am »

I have an entire family that worships him.

This is a pretty rad fort, and I'm thinking I need to make it a community fort with all the horrible Silent-Hill like things that are happening, and I haven't even opened HFS or the caverns yet.

You know what must be done.  Open a portal to chaos!

You need to make said elf leather into the most amazing work of art.  Embed it with every kind of gem you have, stud it with metals, and sew images into it.  Erect a shrine outside your fort with that in the center.  Let the elves know that you view their very skin as naught more but a medium for your dwarves to work on.

Interesting combination... Loyalty + blight and disease.

Brings to mind a necromancer's undead minions. Zombie-Dwarf Fortress!

I'd watch this if you made it a community fort.

We'll see.  I would love to, and it is a really amusing fort. BUT.... the wifey might not like me spending that much time writing about it.

his name is Kindmorals to boot, and Nurgle is easily the kindest person in either the fantasy or 40k settings (not that's saying much)

That's the point, it wouldn't be as fun to crush their souls if they didn't have souls to begin with.

Another deity, same fortress.  Just had my first Founder's death (this fortress is only being populated via birth) and looked at his relationships screen to anticipate the tantrums that will follow.

What the hell is with these morbid guys?  It's like they knew my plans for the fortress and decided to play along.

You plan to kill two thirds of your population and let them rot in the main dining room?

Huh, those are some pretty unusual (meaning awesome) gods. Any other rotting ones in Legends?

Never mind, I know. You plan to release two hundred helmet snakes in your dining room. What with the necrosis venom and all.

please understand, the idea for this fort was to have religious refugees found a hillbilly inbred fort.  It has worked out far better than I had hoped.  My dwarves have so far been utterly pacifistic; not a single creature has been killed on purpose, be it by lever or axe.

Pinedikes is an awesome fortress, and I'm definitely going to go the community route.  To understand what is going on in Pinedikes, you need to see the list of the dead, the damned, and... the caged.

I'm using a few mods (stripped the training buildings from Genesis, Gustatory Science, and have altered the Dwarven raws to allow children to grow up in 4 years, added exotic pets, and for a time had nixed the MULTIPLE_LITTER_RARE tag).

I'm going to back up the save and look through the legends to check on other deities.

Also: this world has 1000 titans and 1000 variations of demons.

In the unit list, under the elephant calves on that page of children, what are those next entries? Somethingsomething hatchlings?

Snapjaw hatchlings.  they're from Gustatory Science.  War turtles, basically.

Edit: Sorry.  Anywhere else I can upload it easily that will facilitate showing the unit names?
