So from time to time I write poetry, none of it is, in my opinion, terribly good. But it's entertaining enough. Now, after reading this one I just wrote I realize - Ye flipping gods, this is like an ode to DF. Only, it's not the players being the unbelievable sadists. That being the case, it doesn't fit perfectly, but it does with a little effort. Here it is, here's hoping it didn't suck too bad :P

*Sniff.* That was beautiful. You truly have some talent; how long did it take you to write that? It encapsulates that ever-present futility of the game perfectly, reminding me of another poem:

"Ozymandias"

I met a traveler from an antique land
Who said: `Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desert. Near them, on the sand,
Half sunk, a shattered visage lies, whose frown,
And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command,
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,

And on the pedestal these words appear --

We and the dwarves may differ, but our plights are a lot alike... x3

To attract ridicule, the only Sid Meier game I've ever played was Colonization. Y'know, that oldschool one. Was pretty nice. :3

Can't say I have. But I was always nice to the natives! That is, until I got a fortress going with some shiny artillery and dragoons. You don't want to antagonize them right away; earn their trust, build your strength and then force them off their land and systematically obliterate their people. :P Those were the days...

Err, in the game, anyway.
