Wow. I knew Wardell liked to pride himself on being a different kind of CEO....I just didn't think it was that kind of CEO. Someone should probably tell him that owning a company doesn't make your employees slaves.

All I knew was that he tried to use Elemental WoM as a way to promote his shitty novel. I don't really care about him as a person though, he is not someone who ever has or will impact my life. I stopped using the company's products a while ago.

Oh dear
I'd read it, but kotaku takes ages to load for no apparent reason for me.

Summary:
Ex employee launches sexual harrasment suit against Wardell, including several rather incriminating emails. Stardock follows up by launching seperate suit aginst said ex employee, blaming them for deleting key files causing the flop of WoM (which no one seems to remeber happening in office).

Yeah...having a hard time taking Stardock's side on that one.

Beside which, the stuff she supposedly deleted was all marketing and trade show stuff. NOT the type of thing that you'd have the developers working on and hardly an excuse for all the problems that game had at launch.

Oh dear

Oh dear indeed. That is very, very, bad. There have been quite a few in-game text descriptions which jumped out at me as pretty sexist and now I see that it wasn't just idle suspicion. What a douche.

I'm almost tempted to haunt the WoM forums to see what kind of tap dancing is going on between staff and die hard fans. Almost.

I just checked and there's a post where he's trying to spin the sexual harassment claim as a demand to never tell vulgar jokes even when he isn't around. People have been lapping it up until the last post...

I am finding the reaction some have (see Twitter) to be really eye opening.  I have to ask, do these people have jobs that involve working with other human beings?

Do you?

That got a chuckle from me. Although now I think I won't even be able to enjoy the good parts of FE because of this asshole. *looks at the e-mail response again* What a freakin DOUCHE.

If she was in marketing and deleted promotional materials, that means there are potentially thousands of people who never heard about Elemental and never bought into a half-finished mess of a game. Doesn't that merit some sort of civic badge of consumer protection?

He just banned the guy and deleted every comment concerning it...

WHAT A FREAKING DOUCHE

This isn't for emphasis. This is my awed reaction at seeing such unabashed douchery first hand.

*sigh* And to think, I had such high hopes for Stardock back when this game was first announced.

Silly me.
