I'm just thinking of it as I think of Bethesda games. If you don't like it, it can be changed.

Still not an excuse for poor design.

I'd hardly count the poor choice of looks for city buildings as bad design, though. =p

Ridiculously short beta 2B preview.

What were the thieves wondering about? How fire works, or what happens when fire is applied to buildings? I'm very curious.

It's refreshing to hear a dev be so frank about the current state of their game. That said, being that vocal gives people a lot of ammunition after release if target goals weren't met.

I agree with him on the entire game's UI though, it's fugly.

I'm signing up.
HOLY SH*T. Do want!
...

Oh wait. I have to register in 2 places, answer question and hope I'm one of 5 lucky people? Bleh I'll pass.

In all seriousness now. I'm waiting for this. I'm avid TBS player and its looking even better than Civ V which is saying a lot. I hope they will at last make a game better than Master of Magic.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

That's a screenshot (presumably with UI turned off) from tactical combat, due for beta4. I hope the animations are good.

I hope a lot of things are good, like their sound engineering as well. Stardock is definitely going outside their comfort zone with this one, I think.

I would be perfectly satisfied with a remake of Master of Magic. Or at least all key elements of gameplay implemented and be not worse at any of them.

So high amount of "it can be modded" remarks reminds me of Bethesda PR and makes me cautious (Oblivion).

It seems that the worst case scenario is the Spore one and it cannot yet be completely ruled out.

Modding looks both fairly easy and fairly in depth, to me. I can't code for shit in Python, but it's just a copy and paste bunch of junk.

Just waiting to see what Beta 3 is like before I put down the moneys.
