Strange moods - Body Parts
« on: May 08, 2010, 07:51:43 pm »

Uhh.. What exactly does this mood require? He needs body parts. I have bones, skulls, random body parts... He's not grabbing any of them, and has all of the other items.

I suppose I can butcher an animal and see if he grabs anything.

He probably wants shells, good luck getting a hold of any without modding something to have them.

Well damn. =/

I had another dwarf who wanted shells. Though they specifically requested shells.

Well, I guess I'll just lock her in with her baby and child and let them go crazy. -_-

If you happen to have ponds, you can send somebody fishing.  The shell comes out immediately when you process the turtle now.

Well, I can't go fishing, because:
'there are no fish in the river.'
'There are no fish in the eastern swamps'.
'There are no fish in the ungerground.'

Everytime I try to get someone to fish. There's no fish. At all. =/

i think bodyparts means the by-products of butchering. hair, teeth, hooves, cartilage.

butcher a few different animals, see if that gets you what you need

He could also want a "horn" item, which also includes hooves. Unless you already butchered something with hooves.
Then yeah, it's most likely shell. Theoretically ivory is also possible, but I have yet to kill any creatures bearing it.

I've got hooves in my refuse pile.

Certain animal parts should be sold by traders. O-o

Like, Ivory, shells, and other stuffs. o.o

Anyways, I'll just let the Herbalist go crazy and murder her baby and child.

In my experience Body Parts requests have ALWAYS been satisfied by slaughtering an animal. Usually when they want shell, they ask for shell.

Could they be not grabbing the Body parts because one of their other requirements aren't satisfied?

They wanted silk cloth, a rock, and a rough gem.

I have plenty of rocks and rough gems. Do they perhaps need more silk.. And that'd be my problem?

...Is your refuse pile outside? Are your dwarves set to ignore outside refuse? Did you dump refuse and forget to claim it?

I have dwarves allowed to gather refuse from outside.

I even have a refuse pile inside near the craftsdwarf workshop and she's not getting anything. Nothing is dumped.

I dunno. I bet they want some weird obscure body part I don't have. Eh. They can die. I'm not worried.
