Phew. Dosen't look like military dwarves are gonna be getting much action unless the elephants attack while your getting the stuff. Or a wall comes down of some-such thing.

WHY DOES THIS WORK?!
I'm cutting down trees with wooden axes :D
THE INSANITY

Reminds me of that one dwarf who was pumping magma using a wooden pipe.

Speaking of wooden pipes, Brak gave birth to a baby boy today. Here's a pic.

THE INSANITY
And when I thought I used up my entire day's worth of insanity in my fort (where I managed to get buzzards to steal off kobolds). Ah, I never cease to amaze myself.

Wooden axes? I seem to remember some bug wherein the weapon is named after what its handle is made of, not the blade.

So we got monsters above, monsters below, dwarves in the middle and a party in the dining hall. Sounds good to me.
If all else fails, remember one thing:  kittens are delicious, nutritious little goblin-baiters, cavern explorers, and ambush-finders.

Back from break. Let's see, what was I doing. Oh yes. Building coffins. Oh I won't actually put anything in there, they'll just be some sort of weird dwarven memorial for each dead person. And there are many.

Edit: Hmm oh yeah. A permanent food source for the refugees. It'll be tough. I won't do trading, just because. Maybe the second cave has something edible. Aboveground farming is also out, due to skelephants.
