It's now the winter of the second year. Another caravan, another diplomat left unhappy, another set of migrants stomped by skelephants.

The food supply is improving, and we now have individual rooms for each couple. The eligible bachelors are housed in the old common room.

Oh and speaking of Bachelors, Brak Obama and Zefon the Unclaimed have married. Congratulations.

Also, drafted all the migrants and sent them off after Webmarkets the Language of Finding, the Skeletal Elephant. With predictable results.

Create a project to capture some skeletal elephants to use in your cavern defense plans.

Well, hmm. I suppose. The problem is that the monsters below are also undead. I think they don't fight each other or something? As for using them for fortress defence against topside foes, they're already doing it :D

I suppose I could try to pit them against the forces of hell... That's food for thought.

Umm, I thought we were in .03?

Also, winter's been pretty uneventful. I've got around 200 plants and the same of drinks, so we're set for a while. I'll have to think up ways to supplement their diet though, eating nothing but plump helmets for years will cause bad thoughts. Fortunately the last batch of migrants I let in brought some animals, so meat's on the menu.

The engraving of the personal quarters are going well. Hmm, let's see if we got anything interesting in there.
Who-kay, elephants striking down dwarves and dwarves being crushed by bridges. Pretty morbid decoration for a bedroom, dontcha think?

I feel I should mention that you have to assign nobles yourself, unless that blank nobles screen means it's all black.

-_- I am fully aware that you need to assign nobles yourself, however my noble screen is completely blank, due to the 'dead expedition leader' bug.

But I kinda like this bug. Since the guy who knows what's supposed to be done is dead, the rest are sort of making due with what they have. It's not that big of an issue.
And maybe they'll reappear once the fort grows big enough or something.

Edit: And in case you're wondering what's going on topside, here's a look:

Make a device connected to the murky pool. The said device shall flood the airlock.

The murky pools spend a lot of the time being stone dry. They're wet only during the rainy season. Although I suppose I could build a more elaborate airlock belowground, that would take it's water from the uppermost cavern.

Not much to report. Spotted some zombie flesh balls and a troll on the eastern bank. An elven caravan is sitting aboveground. Like I would trade with the stupid pointy ears. No, the gate is and will remain closed.

Make a pump stack to pump water from the caverns into the murky pool.
