I'm being called scummy by someone in a game. If I respond, I'm defensive and therefore scummy. If I don't respond I'm hiding something and therefore scummy. When I finally give in to demands I don't hide something and state my opinion, I'm again scummy for being defensive.

It's kind of like attempting to romance a woman.  It's not so much about what you say as how you say it (though if you let "you look like a fat cow and I'm not giving you any roses" past your lips, you're pretty much fucked).

No. Responding is not being defensive. Attacking someone because they accuse you is defensive. Also, a major thing is your tone. That was a main thing that made me think you were being defensive.

Not responding does make you seem scummy, but I don't remember anything about you not responding here. The defensiveness gives the implication of having something to hide, and a townie shouldn't have to hide.

You are not scummy for saying your opinion. Its good that you came out with your suspicions. It just does not erase you being defensive earlier.
 

If anything you guys have gotten me to unvote on Char, as apparently, his is the game to play the first day.

Lurking is not good. Trying to lynch because he lurks is very bad.
 

Or is it Diablous, who has pretty much just summarized the situation the whole day. He's stayed ahead of the game and answered questions about his suspicions before people can ask them, allowing him to craft his answer on his own terms. Seems like a good play to me whether he's scum or not.

So Diablous, why do you think you've avoided any serious attacks so far, even from the most aggressive among us so far, Siquo.

Not sure. Maybe I haven't done anything the others find all that suspicous? As for Siquo, in the original BMX, he attacked me on day 1 and stayed on me until he was killed on night 2. He seems to play like this: He attacks someone, and if their response is scummy to them, he stays on them. Unless they make him think they are town, they are his main focus. Last game, it was me. I did not notice him attacking others that much. This game, it looks like it is Spitfire. I haven't really popped up on his radar, apparently.

Siquo, I returned your question with one of my own. How stupid do you have to be to not notice? This arguement is utterly pointless and not getting us anywhere. Saying that I am Mafia (The word scum gets annoying after a while), no matter how many times you say it, doesn't make me mafia.
This isn't working out for me obviously, my job is to find out who is the mafia in this game, and if I, a Marine Rookie, must sacrafice himself in the name of proving who the mafia is, then very well.
I will not rest in peace until Siquo is dead, because he is scum.
