So what do you think, town?  Go for the easy lurker lynch on Char, or off someone who stinks of scum?

Is this a serious question? I hate lurkers as much as the next guy, but this question should not even be posed.

And while I have you, Toaster, I want to describe the feeling I'm getting from you. Despite the fact that you're "new" to Mafia and everything, I get a very not-new vibe every time you post. You speak in a very informed manner and in watching your interactions, I would even say it appears that you're subtly pushing around the other newbies. If you're doing it, cleverly done; if not, then you might want to watch that.

Either way, you're on my list of suspicious people as well. Which at this point means I'm looking at Criptfeind and you, unless I'm forgetting someone I've accused already. I'm falling asleep as it is.

You know how there's always one guy who reads the instruction manual to everything cover to cover?  That's me.  I spent a pretty decent amount of time reading the wiki and old games.  The only thing I want others to do is participate and help find and exterminate the scum.

Maybe… I am waiting to see the vote count right now. As for lynching Char as you seem to be considering, bad idea right now, he has not posted enough for me to get a good look at him. If he keeps not posting than a lynch may be in order.

Well it seems everyone wants the straight up answer, rather than holding suspicions. So.. Who do I think is scum?  Well I think the most likely to be scum is you Toaster, you're way too matter of fact with just about every post, acting as if you've been playing forever.  Even your last accusation of me just throws around Mafia terms without really carrying any meaning.
Since being sly and probing on the first day is apparently not allowed as "uninspired scumhunting" I suppose it's time to follow Siquo's advice about the hammer and go on the warpath.

Guilty as charged, I'm here to learn and I've now learned that apparently my plan to play the first day relatively passively was a bad one, time to change that I guess.

Note, my vote still stands with Char, I think its a pretty likely that you're scum as well, but if not.. no big loss. If you go after anyone for uninspired scumhunting Toaster, I'd think it would be him.

Again, here are my non-rhetorical questions. Non-rhetorical as in even though they might seem like it, you don't act like it, and I want them answered.

I guess that's where the whole "theory vs practice" thing comes into play.  I may be able to talk Mafia, but now I really need to play Mafia.  Regardless, my vote stands.  I did forget to mention one scumish thing you did (and I'll admit- I nearly did as well:) going for the easy lynch on Char.  I doubt anyone would really mind seeing him gone, myself included, but I don't feel he's scum.  Therefore, I'm sticking with who does strike me as scummy, and it's you.

However, I am glad to see you getting more aggressive.  The rest of the day might change my mind, but I doubt it.

Let's see. Char13magne has talked, but he still has not contributed much, like he has not mentioned his suspicions. I usually don't mind if someone is not very active, but only if they are contributing when they are, so this is getting annoying.

Siquo is still agressive, he was like that last time and he was town then. He seems kinda jumpy with his vote this time around. Seems like it is staying on Spitfire for the time being, which matches his how he acted last time where his vote stayed on me for most of the game.

How Cript is acting is like last time, but I'm not familiar with his town game. I don't really have anything on him except that.

Spifire is also acting like he did last time. I also do not know his town game either. Asking the same questions that have been answered does cause my belief in him being town to grow.

Jokerman hasn't really roused my suspicions. I find his vote for Toaster interesting. I would not consider Toaster's "not new" vibe all that scummy. But Jokerman was onto Cript last time, he might be onto something again. I'm keeping an eye on both of them to be safe.

Toaster has not really roused my suspicions either. I'm not getting a scum vibe off of him.
 
Not sure about Blargityblarg. He hasn't given all that much to go on.
 
Last but not least, Knight. He has been pretty defensive. It seems like he has something to hide. When he said why he would not give out his suspicions, he seemed more crappy townie to me than scum. He hasn't really done anything else to reduce my suspicions.

Anyway lets play with a few hypothetical ideas here for the sake of learning, it is "beginners mafia" after all.
Lets just hypothetically say my claim that I'm town is true.
I'm being called scummy by someone in a game. If I respond, I'm defensive and therefore scummy. If I don't respond I'm hiding something and therefore scummy. When I finally give in to demands I don't hide something and state my opinion, I'm again scummy for being defensive.

If anything you guys have gotten me to unvote on Char, as apparently, his is the game to play the first day.

Or is it Diablous, who has pretty much just summarized the situation the whole day. He's stayed ahead of the game and answered questions about his suspicions before people can ask them, allowing him to craft his answer on his own terms. Seems like a good play to me whether he's scum or not.

So Diablous, why do you think you've avoided any serious attacks so far, even from the most aggressive among us so far, Siquo.
