I see your tesla coil and raise you one theremin jam.

Also this ingenious thing.

As cool as that is, it's not shooting twenty foot arcs of lightning at things to make music, so it is inherantly less cool than the Tesla Coils.

Seriously, very little in the world (if anything) is cooler than Tesla Coils.

Hey, a theremin might not shoot tesla coils, but it's the only instrument I know of that you control by waving your hands in front of it.

Now, if you tape one to a Tesla Coil, you might have something.

It's music... of SCIENCE!!! Wow, I had no idea you could so that with tesla coils. They are now(somehow) even more awesome.

Well, you could theoretically wire a theremin to a teslacoil. They make much the same sounds, too. I wonder if anyone tried it yet...

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

After a quick stroll through the search engines, it appears that nobody has tried it yet, and there's only one comment on Youtube suggesting it. Almost-original idea on the Internet, o wow?

"Fingers are nothing, i shoot musical lightning at people by playing air-guitar!"

I cannot think of anything more metal than shooting musical lightning at people by playing air-guitar. That is pretty much the ultimate pinnacle of metal.

No, the ultimate Metal is when you're singing about particles hitting each other fast enough to destroy the planet.
