That's what you get when I forget to update the list back on page 6.

The other captain and his evacuated crew had long been gone, assigned a new ship. Caesar stared into the depths of space. He wasn't satisfied. Not with his ship, not with his crew, not with himself.
Another mission, another senseless fight. Truly he did not know their real cause, he did not know which goals he served. That, because he was no more than a pawn, a piece to be sacrificed for someone else's goals. His dark thoughts were interrupted when they warped into the system. They were to fight yet another battle, in the name of some 'meritocracy'. Hell- They even tried to rid of him not too many years ago. He didn't know the other captains, and he even barely knew his crew. Sure, he got friendly- sort of - with his first mate, Mason. But that was it. He knew the crew better than Caesar did.

Caesar sighed, opening communications, not using his new and decadent visual transponders. The other captains needn't see his face. He sounded emotionless, almost careless, as he spoke, his voice metallic to the other ships.

Was that an IC or an OOC comment?

If it was out of character:
Nah. We've charged into them before, right? It'll work this time as well.

I can do it, don't worry. I just spent all my time playing Borderlands. (Speaking of that, anyone have it on the 360?)

OOC
And IC:

"Well that sounded rather hopless"
Said Dwight as he was squirming uncomfortably in his chair, he really should get a better one, maybe with a massager installed even.
"Gah, i know i will regret this, it goes against the Schrute rules but i owe the man, and we can always use cannon fodder.Follow up Tornis from a safe distance, lock the nano matrix on them, it's payback time"

SpecOps Leader: Good to see you, we're moving out.

Argunn cuts the channel and then speaks to you; he doesn't want the Fleet to lose another ship, and you'll be staying in the distance. They'll be fine. He's sure.
This is met with mixed reactions, but the Fleet stays put.

However, it soon becomes apparent the stolen ships are taking quite a beating.
Argunn orders everyone to stay where they are.
Caesar cuts off the Avalanche and charges up his engines. No point sitting there.
The Fist of Rage follows close, but the rest of the Fleet doesn’t move an inch.
Orders are orders.

The stolen ships move as fast as they can, but are soon swarmed by the Remnant garrison.

However, the Tornis and the Fist of Rage are spotted and the garrison force breaks up to combat both threats.

The Tornis and the Fist of Rage arrive at the scene, just in time to see one of the Hammerheads to go down in flames.

SpecOps Leader: You took your time… where the hell is the rest of your Fleet?

Caesar just mutters a curse as a reply, engaging the nearest enemy.

Another Hammerhead goes down.

The rest of the Fleet, unbeknownst to the two heroes, is powering up their engines and preparing to join the battle.
Argunn still forces them to attack from a distance, not wanting to risk deaths.

Caesar throws himself at the enemy, driving them away from the escaping ships.
The Fist of Rage clears the way for the stolen ships, forcing the rest of the garrison to shift their attention to them aswell.

The rest of the Fleet arrives, but then holds position, firing from a distance.

The stolen ships are getting near safety right now, and systems are ready for the Jump.
The Tornis and the Fist of Rage keep harassing the garrison.

But still, the third Hammerhead is lost.

They make the Jump; the surviving three ships, a Sentinel Support Frigate, the last Hammerhead and a Seeker Light Cruiser.
Command won’t be happy.

Those Hammerheads would've probably been lost anyway, but shame on you for holding ground when your mission is to distract the enemy and then leave, not win.

Caesar crushed him between his arms.

"My loyal first mate! How well you did back there..? I'm proud of you! We showed them who was boss, didn't we?"
He let go of Mason, hugging yet another of his crew, Ira, the only other veteran on board of his ship. Ira was a 'she', though.
He let go of her soon too, though, his face yet again a serious masque, hiding his true emotions.
"If the fleet commander contacts you- Tell them it was my fault. I won't let them kick you off the ship."
With a sigh he stood, walking quickly through the sections of his ship, repeatedly padded on the shoulder by his crew, congratulating him. He wasn't so sure of himself, though.
He tried to show appreciation, but did he do it the right way? Probably not. He didn't know how to interact with other people. Besides that, he really didn't think this battle was a victory, but rather a loss. He loved a fight, but he hated the losses it'd inflict.
Once more the system "fucked up!"
He shouted the last two words instead of thinking them as he entered his quarters.
If they hadn't done anything, all of those people would have been dead. He was lucky that the Fist of Rage joined in- Should thank them some day. Now was not that day..
He looked down with his now altered sight. He sure would miss that old friend of his. Slowly he reached for his cabinet, taking out an eyepatch.

He had always known he would some day need one of those.
