Nice name. Let's get it blown up.

The class is named 'Astra'ath', right? Let's name the ship 'Diapers'.

I finished it and tested it against the Avalanche. Poor guy didn't stand a chance.

However, Astra'ath is still too small. BACK TO SHIPMAKER!

He's too small, that's why it's called 'diaper'. Now it'll become a child, so we'll call him 'potty'.

You better get some epic music playing for this.

The Tornis, DEATHSHIP and the Will of Iron are selected to secure the databanks. They move up as instructed.

At the planet, both sides power up their weapons. It’s not looking good.

A message containing one single word comes from Command;

‘Fire.’

Orders are to be followed.

Then all hell breaks loose.

Both sides move up to meet eachother, and an incredible amount of ammunition fills the void.
The Avalanche decides to take on their Hellhound Destroyer, guarded by the four Watchmen.
The Purgatory and the Redemption punch their way into the midst of borrowed Alliance warships.

Neither side seems to be getting the upper hand at first, with both sides still mostly protected by shields.

The Thonius Assault Carrier keeps it’s distance, unleashing swarms of tiny Shredder Drones and robotic fighter-craft on the fighting below.

As expected, the Remnant Fleets bring in reinforcements.

Some ships enter the asteroid fields, seeking for the Theocracy databanks, but the three ships are waiting for them.

Combat continues to rage, both sides taking damage now. A Thanatos detonates right next to a vulnerable Watchman.

Their comrades’ shields go down from the blast.

The nearby enemy ships see their chance and blast through the others, all but destroying two ships.

The three ships hold their ground.

The Purgatory and the Redemption both are taking heavy damage. The enemy seems to be targeting their weapons, for some reason.

However, a massive explosion climbs up the Thonius Assault Carrier, raising your morale by a ton.
It’s drone launchers are blown off, but it still survives.

On the other side of the ‘battleground’, the Avalanche and her friends have fared much better.
All enemies are either dead or fleeing towards the rest of the armada.

(See kids, this is why you check your damn links before building something)

Both the Purgatory and the Redemption are too badly damaged to continue fighting.
They head for the relative safety of the asteroid field.

The Avalanche and the others finish off their opponents.

The proud and mighty Redemption, drifting silently in the void.

Everybody seems to want the Trio dead.

The Remnant forces have been all but beaten, yet they still fight. Their last frigates are destroyed,
and only the Assault Carrier remains.

It channels all power to it’s engines and performs an emergency Jump before it shares the same fate,
escaping, but with the damage it took, it’s not likely it will make it through to it’s destination.

Victory comes with a prize. The space above Prospero is full of spaceship wrecks of both sides, empty husks lifelessly drifting in the void.
The 7th Fleet didn’t survive without casualties; the Thanatos Tempest and the Chimera both fell to the enemy.

The battle ended at 08:25:24 am. I finished the update at 09:36:54 am.

Enjoy, or I'll have to hunt you down and set your liver on fire.

You get upgrades now.

EDIT: There is something seriously wrong with the way the Purgatory's and the Redemption's weapons are set up. They lost them while suffering very little actual damage.
Or, well, the Purgatory suffered only little damage. >_>

I'll send you an updated version of the Tornis when I'm ready to do so.

The upgrades'll be (I'm not sure if I'm allowed to take two.)

First Priority: Turning rate.
Second Priority: More flexible back turrets.

Besides, I was already playing Epic music, which accompanied this epic battle well.

ExKirby, why on earth would you want more parts? I guess I could add sections to act as armour, but...

There's no way I'm letting you transform your DEATHSHIP into a Cronus.

Speaking of the Thanatos's, they're essentially the backbone of every single Fleet your side has. They're surprisingly resilient, and can actually cause damage nicely in swarms.

Caesar, do you really need a higher turning rate, being a broadsider? I guess it'd help against fast flankers, like Scorpions, but they can't really cause much damage anyways.

I experienced that often the Guns get damaged, and I need to turn the entire ship around to hit the enemy with the other set of turrets. I want this to happen quickly.

But I decided to have my upgrade be the capability of the back turrets to turn 360 degrees.

Okay, send me the ship when you're ready.

Anybody excited that you'll be heading for war with the Remnant Fleets? Your side doesn't have the resources for a long war (though the Remnant Fleets can't afford it either, they have higher military strenght). Your leaders are probably aiming to strike fast and take control of the resource-rich mining worlds just outside the Core Worlds.

Also, if the New Theocracy decides to use this to expand and joins in, you're both screwed.
If that happens, your only chance is the alien Alliance stepping in, but they have enough problems with keeping their population happy, with the war against the Aenar still straining their resources.

Speaking of the Aenar...

yeah, no, they're not leaving their worlds.

...It would be over time. I still want my armors.

Fine, where do you want them? Just a two-section wall surrounding your ship? Something else?

In the first screen shot, was my ship the higher one or the lower one?
