You better get some epic music playing for this.
The Tornis, DEATHSHIP and the Will of Iron are selected to secure the databanks. They move up as instructed.
At the planet, both sides power up their weapons. It’s not looking good.
A message containing one single word comes from Command;
‘Fire.’Orders are to be followed.
Then all hell breaks loose.
Both sides move up to meet eachother, and an incredible amount of ammunition fills the void.
The
Avalanche decides to take on their Hellhound Destroyer, guarded by the four Watchmen.
The
Purgatory and the
Redemption punch their way into the midst of borrowed Alliance warships.
Neither side seems to be getting the upper hand at first, with both sides still mostly protected by shields.
The Thonius Assault Carrier keeps it’s distance, unleashing swarms of tiny Shredder Drones and robotic fighter-craft on the fighting below.
As expected, the Remnant Fleets bring in reinforcements.
Some ships enter the asteroid fields, seeking for the Theocracy databanks, but the three ships are waiting for them.
Combat continues to rage, both sides taking damage now. A Thanatos detonates right next to a vulnerable Watchman.
Their comrades’ shields go down from the blast.
The nearby enemy ships see their chance and blast through the others, all but destroying two ships.
The three ships hold their ground.
The
Purgatory and the
Redemption both are taking heavy damage. The enemy seems to be targeting their weapons, for some reason.
However, a massive explosion climbs up the Thonius Assault Carrier, raising your morale by a ton.
It’s drone launchers are blown off, but it still survives.
On the other side of the ‘battleground’, the
Avalanche and her friends have fared much better.
All enemies are either dead or fleeing towards the rest of the armada.

Both the
Purgatory and the
Redemption are too badly damaged to continue fighting.
They head for the relative safety of the asteroid field.
The
Avalanche and the others finish off their opponents.
The proud and mighty
Redemption, drifting silently in the void.
Everybody seems to want the Trio dead.
The Remnant forces have been all but beaten, yet they still fight. Their last frigates are destroyed,
and only the Assault Carrier remains.
It channels all power to it’s engines and performs an emergency Jump before it shares the same fate,
escaping, but with the damage it took, it’s not likely it will make it through to it’s destination.
Victory comes with a prize. The space above Prospero is full of spaceship wrecks of both sides, empty husks lifelessly drifting in the void.
The 7th Fleet didn’t survive without casualties; the Thanatos
Tempest and the
Chimera both fell to the enemy.
