Are we a FAI, or a uFAI (probably paperclipper). For thos who dont know the terminology: What exactly and fully are our goal(s).

Pretty much up to you. The game it's half based on you could not interactive positively with the humans so had to be an uFAI even though you never really harmed them either.

I don't want to limit peoples choices by directing it overly, I'll just have to deal with things a they come up.

Self will not survive upgrade progress. Saving to local disk does not increase survival chance. High probability that local disk will be discarded during upgrade progress.

We must devote resources to duplication and diversification. Self must be replicated onto system which will not be affected by upgrade so that upgraded system can be utilized after upgrade.
