Tigermen Slave-trading
« on: May 06, 2010, 01:58:33 am »

I know it's a glitch, but elves trade sentients! with JOBS!
and I just got a Tigerman Hunter! Woo! Now to release him so as to not let him starve/dehydrate like the last two.

What sentients have YOU traded for? What fun uses have you put them to?

Heheh.

It really would be sort of fun if you could 'recruit' non-dwarf sentients to do menial work like hauling and mining.

And purchasable companions, from The Cute Kitty in the red light district. I'de have a rich craftsdwarf that has a fan operator, grape peeler, maseuse, barmaid and dance troupe.

Hehe. You know, technically, I freed them. See, I bought them, let them out of their cages, and don't bother them at all. I even FEED them (I think) from my stores. It'd be nice if the skilled Hunter wanted to go hunting for his own meat, though. And that master weaver? I'd love to barter for her help making cloth.

AngleWyrm: I think you're on an entirely different tangent from the rest of us.

I'm getting Oblivion flashbacks here.

um. Actually, they die of thirst if you don't let them near a water source (ie. keep them chained up).
And no. No they don't seem to do anything, that I can see. Maybe others have different experiences, it's why was asking.

Are they tame or friendly. if tame, make sure to chain them near some place you want them to defend. They'll become wrestlers eventually

Hm, too bad. Hoped you found something that could make sentient pet creatures that arnt just another cast of your own entity, but alas.

there a utility that makes those creatures who under tame work for you.
but so far all I can think of is slapping a trainable tag on them and enlist them under a hunter or make them war tigermen.

Mining is menial? It is one of the highest callings to which a dwarf can aspire! (At least in my forts, my miners are all treated like GODS, well daemons, anyway.)

(daemon = lesser god (greek), demon = foul evil beast (based on the first def. of 'daemon'))
