How many examples was that?  Like ten?  Compared to the thousands of arrests that happen each year?

I fail to see your point on this.

...for god's sake, I live in a country where you can get off a traffic violation with an approximately $1 bribe...

That's it, I'm packin' mah bags!  It's Philippines Or Bust for ol' Aqizzar!

History has already proven you completely wrong. You think abuse of power is rampant now? Study 18th century government and enforcement. Society didn't magically transform from that craphole into the significantly less crapholey place it is now.

Do you realize what that would do with DF's representation in Texas, Aqizzar?

Janet would still be there.

Anyway, wait for me, Aqizzar.  I'm going to cash my student aid checks and go to the Philippines.  How long do you think I'd survive on around 3000 USD?

I'm not saying the police anywhere aren't flawed - for god's sake, I live in a country where you can get off a traffic violation with an approximately $1 bribe - but you're being ridiculously pessimistic.

He's got an extreme opinion is all, but I think he needs to realize that.

Depends. $3000 is, um, about P150,000. You could live in a warehouse homeless shelter but be the most pimpin' dressed man in the block.

I'd be obese and unhealthy in France, rather dumb in Sweden, and a terribly dangerous driver in Germany.  In America, I'm just worse than average in all, but declining all the time.  As my health, mind, and driving deteriorate, I'm going to keep moving to shittier countries with lower standards, until eventually I'm Zimbabwe's healthiest doctor of rally-racing.  Big fish in a small pond, Vester.  Big fish in a small pond.

You could just buy one of the smaller islands and declare yourself King. All without the hassle of battles for divine right.

I approve of the "Move to the Philippines" plan, with one addendum: Get a boat house, so you don't get swept away by one of the catastrophic floods that seem to happen every now and then.

Power abuse happens on a very lesser level than it always has. Any potental technical flaws in an anti-corruption system will be exploited to the limit. Can you even imagine what SWAT did to that kid on a emotional level? He might think that crazed armed men could break into your house without reason at any time- Wait, that's what happened. SWAT will gear up to shoot themselves some lawbreakers on tips. It almost reminds me of witch trials. Got someone you want gone? Say that they are a witch, or in the modern day, give SWAT a tip that they are armed and dangerous drug lords. Same result, really.

There'd better not be any offenses against god and nature involved this time, is all I'm saying.

Not counting you, Cthulhu.
