(Tohou) Music blew my mind
« on: May 05, 2010, 04:46:36 pm »

So I found this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2GIMgD_gShU

The song seems to be called Bad Apple or something like that, and it blew my mind.
I have this warm electric feeling crawling down my spine when I listen to it.
More often than not do I find myself mesmerised by a certain song, and getting bored and moving over to another.

So maybe... the rest of tohou music is like this?

Or maybe you also get "warm fuzzy feelings" when listening to music?

Not that the music is objectively bad, but it's cutesy japanese girls singing over a eurobeat straight from the early ninties that make anyone who has spent time in the electronic dance music scene cringe. :/

A lot of the music is ear worm material. I'd really wish you hadn't posted it, I'm probably going to spend the night trying to get it out of my head.

I first heard of this when I saw this video, which I found more fitting for the tune. I just love the art direction of it all. It was even cooler during April Fool's Day on Youtube when it was all done in ASCII characters.

Why did that feature have to be a 1-day thing?  >:(

Japanese Pop Music?

I didn't know people listened to it un-ironically.. I guess you learn something new every day.

The zen of music is when you reach the place where your groove can incorporate everything. One day, young grasshopper, you will see where this, this, and this become one with this.

This seems pretty much exactly like any other anime song I've ever heard.

Now The Flashbulb, there's some good music.

Ah, but I find my own salvation in being an absolute fascist when it comes to art. Having a strong sense of musical and visual taste in things makes me really appreciate them more. If I find the music and images from the OPs video wretched, I shall not listen to them. My snobbery shall only make my next The Strokes song sound that much better. I speak of course only for myself, and am not trying to imply that someone who listens to music I don't enjoy is a worse person than myself.

Fair enough. We'll stand at opposite sides of the musical appreciation spectrum, and prove that people need not fight about their music tastes.

Quite so, good chap. Lovely having a conversation about opinion that doesn't involve yelling or name calling. :D

A true musical snob would do nothing but listen to classical and jerk off onto a bust of Beethoven. You sir are an impostor and a ragamuffin.

HAVE AT YOU!
