Okay, so I had 800 Microsoft Points sitting there, not buying anything (lazy sods) so I decided to change my gamertag.

I go in, pick a name that isnt taken (that was real surprising), press "confirm". It spits out some error, charges my points, and then doesnt change my name.

Is it supposed to take time? Is that normal? Why was I even doing it in the first place?

Because they can, and everybody likes making money right?

However, on the error itself: Call microsoft support. You will always get a problem fixed when it relates directly to money.

Contact their support number. They should be able to fix it.

But seriously, yeah, they should fix that up for you if you just give them a call. And being nice will help, as these folks are just the call center people.

Well, just an update. My MS points arrived back in my account for no reason, (seriously, I didnt even do anything) and I changed my GT. So everythings worked out.
