So, what do we do with the non Player-occupied parts of England?

Let me have them (yipee!), I assure you I will still research them for numbers.
- 4 (30.8%)
Leave them neutral and able to be claimed by invasion.
- 7 (53.8%)
Leave them neutral and give roll-based bonuses for taking them.
- 1 (7.7%)
Leave them neutral and untakeable throughout the game (blah).
- 0 (0%)
Regularly put their future actions to a vote (I'll still do research for their numbers).

Okay, so, slight addition to the rules (which I put into a double post so it would be noticed as "new"), the victory conditions are to own all of England, and be crowned king in London. However, the point of "secret objectives" and such, are that the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place winners will be determined by the people who recieve the most points via the grading system of;
A. 6 points for a completed objective.
B. 1 point for every turn each territory is held.

We will be starting this (Thursday, May 6) afternoon, with neutral counties used in the fashion that recieves the most votes in the poll by then. Any new recruits up until around 3:00 today (Thursday, May 6) will be welcomed! Good luck everyone! :D

Okay guys, you can all start posting your moves now (either on the thread, or by PM, your choice)! The votes show that we will be playing with neutral countries able to be invaded normally (2nd option). Once I recieve everybody's moves, I will announce the results of the first week, as well as everyone's newly recruited men, and everyones new funds. Good luck! :D

P.S. Don't hesitate to ask questions about gameplay either via PM, or directly onto the thread.

And here's how the turns work;

you have 3 basic types of action, you can have multiple of these per turn (week), within reason (except for armies, they get 1),

1) Your character. Probably used for stuff like Diplomacy. For instance, going around to nobles to try and raise funds, or to bishops and the like to gain church support, or negotiations with NPC territories.

2) Your government. Examples: Collecting taxes, Ordering more food production, ordering weapons and armor, ect.

3) One action for each separate army you form. Training, patrolling, create defenses, furloughing the troops, whatever.

And many thanks to Paranatural, who came up with the wording and such for this :D.

I'm sorry, you're quite right. Your ships are in fact in Cornwall. The original writing has been amended. Sorry for any inconvenience :-[.

Okay so, we're going to start up with a more definite rule system next turn, based an actions, and time and money as resources to buy the actions (this turn, everyone just stick to what they're currently doing). the way it will work is that every player starts each turn with 1 "a little money" per region controlled, London counts as 3 (money is cumulative, and can be saved between turns). If High Taxes are introduced, each county affected counts as 2. A "lot of money" is equal to 2 "a little money"s. Each player also starts with 1 "time" per county controlled. Each unit can only perform 1 action per turn, except for spies and diplomats, who can perform 2 per turn. Here is a comprehensive list of the actions for each part of the game, followed by (their costs), some with a second () section preceding the cost that describe their effects or limits.

Actions:

Military:
Train (Time)
Move (Time)
Recruit Locals (Time, a little money)
Recruit Mercenaries (A lot of money)
Assault (Time)
Raid (Time)
Fortify (A region) (Time, a little money)
Recruit A Local General (Time, a little money)
Recruit A Mercenary General (A lot of money)

Government:
Recruit Diplomat (Time, a lot of money)
Appeal To The Masses (In one region) (Time, a little money)
Move Diplomat (Time)
Open Up Diplomacy (Need only be done once in a region, to allow permanent legitimate contact unless the diplomat is ousted) (Time)
Increase Taxes (Has the cost of a negative "Appeal to the masses" associated with it, can be performed selectively on individual counties instead of whole kingdom, if desired)
Have Castle Built (In a single region) (Time, a lot of money)
Have Diplomat Bribe An Opposing Army (Has possibility of disastrous effects for either side, with varying chances of success) (Time, a lot of money)

Subterfuge:
Recruit An (Professional) Agent (A lot of money)
Move An Agent (Time)
Political Espionage (With an agent) (Effect is a negative "Appeal to the masses") (Time, a little money)
Political Assassinations (With an agent, varying effects) (Time, a little money)
Sabotage Of Major Buildings (With an agent, varying effects) (Time, a little money)
Disruption Of Enemy Army (With an agent, varying effects) (Time, a little money)
Counter-Espionage (With an agent) (Cannot perform in enemy territory) (Time)
Inciting Rebellion  (With an agent, varying effects) (Can only be performed in either Wales, Scotland, or a county that has had 2 succesfull "Political Espionages," or Tax increases, without having their popularity improved by another factor)

In answer to your questions, yes and sure. I should be able to get us all onto the next turn by the end of the day, as well.

               Cheers!

(Oh, and everyone, try to look at my post in the roleplaying section on a similiar topic (The Very British Civil War-1938), and try to tell me what you think!)

I just say what I see in your roles, you didn't role so well (1), and the defender rolled ok (3), so I took that to mean, give the defender a chance. Am I right? Also, you weren't in command, because you never said so, and you hired no general, so it was some stupid lord in command. Happy?
