Everyone show support of Anidroids Open Source movement. Or not.
The current host of Cowed is 100% against OS, while Anidroid is undecided. Anidroid also seems to be the one "In charge" of the source.

Also, everyone seems to be thinking that we will be "taking over" if it goes Open Source.

Well, if we "do" get to host, atleast I will be an admin. ;D

HAHAH!HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAH!!!!!
I dont understand how we could 'take over'. If you like the old server, go to the damn old server. We're not sending hack attacks to destroy it or anything.

Says who? I CERTAINLY wouldn't add Orb as an admin.
(Just kidding.)
Anyways, I've been playing around with the leaked source. You think the host would add it if I made knives craftable?
Or would I be banned for being in possession of leaked files?

Not exactly sure who your talking to, so I might as well say something.

Its probably B, since if he lets one person do it....then everyone thinks its ok. =/
I dont know the host though, so I am going based on what I have heard.

I still think they need more coders. All they have is Data, and he is working on console currently.

Also, I was wondering (This is totally hypothetical, I'm not thinking about doing this at all. I'm serious.)
What would they do if another cowed server just popped up one day?

Looking at Data's Posts on the topic, it almost seems as if he's sold on the idea of going Open-Source.

I couldn't be happier.

I know it's unrealistic, but I can't help but imagine little bearded babies for dwarves. In my mind, they come out of the womb fully bearded. That's how the mother carries them around, too, she just drags them around by the beard or ties it to her belt. When the father's on duty, he just ties their beards together and the baby just kind of hangs there, swinging to and fro with Urist McDaddy's movements.

Don't spread them, Quinnr, and that should be fine.

Regarding your hypothetical question, it would be full of greifers.

Why would it have any more griefers than the other server?

The main people AGAINST the idea of having it open source is the admins. I guess they don't want to lose their power.

Was gonna say how others are too, but I remembered the only other person I can think of is a retired admin.

Uh, I am the current host. I run the forum, the game server, the SVN that has the source-code... pretty much everything. And out of the 5 developers I've had on the project I've been the most active, which led to me slowly taking over thanks to the inactivity of the then powers that be.

I think bay12 should aquire the cow'd source code and use it to springboard out own code for things that we may need to use them for.

Basically, you just want it, so you can steal codes from it?
