To start off, I think this is the correct section for this, but I could be wrong. If so, I'm very sorry.

Lately, I've been considering running a D&D game for my group loosely based on the idea of reclaiming a fallen dwarven outpost. The players would all be dwarves, following the trail into the fortress left in engravings and items strewn about. A trail of breadcrumbs left by the dwarves as they retreated deeper and deeper into the mountains, with their invaders following.

I would love to have the ability to randomly generate names and items like those in Dwarf Fortress for use in this game. Some kind of utility, allowing for quick generation of say... A Dwarf's name, and possibly a short description and life highlights, would be perfect. Something similar to when dwarves have their moods and create masterpieces, and the items generated, would also be fantastic.

Is there anything like this? Some utility or utilities that can generate dwarves and items, and allow us to see the information outside of the game?

Pretty sure that you can look in legends if you want dwarfs names, and history. You could just slightly change what you find to get what you want. Dunno about items or moods though

also, check legends mode, it should have everything you need, even if it is in a bit hard to access format. wasn't there even a utility being made to extract it?
