Gods and Worshipper Count

Introduction
Samwell Glacialstakes sits at a wooden table in the tavern, yelling madly about the disparity of wealth in the local mountainhome, and how it all stems from the dwarves' confinement to the fortress Zealrelics. He's looking to recruit for a group Obok Tinöth, the Pillars of Equality, where poverty will become but a myth! By developing a settlement in Whirlrelic, new resources may be tapped, and the dwarves may one day see the world safe from the marauding goblins!

But that's a long way away. In the meantime, stout labour will be required to see us through the first few seasons. Then, and only then, would the mountainhome realise the value of establishing colonies and keeping the citizens happy!

I would recommend a place with unicorns and/or elephants. Perhaps that peninsula with the elves?

This is what the post used to be:
The only good region is in the South-East, away from the elves. I can get:
  • 1) elephants, flux and a water source near the elves (with a partial aquifier, hot)
  • 2) unicorns, elephants, sand, flux and a water source near the minotaurs (hot)
  • 3) elephants, flux, sand and a water source between the minotaurs and the goblins (hot) (by goblins, I meant minotaur-goblins :P)
  • 4) savage, flux, obsidian, sand, water source near the land-bridge between the Eastern continents(partial aquifier, warm/hot)

Or something completely different.

Number 2 was chosen!

Using 31.03. All the mods are made by myself; only the Minotaurs have been uploaded so far, but if you're interested in any of the others feel free to ask.

Unless Urist says otherwise, I'll assume he's voting for 2 as well. I'll wait a little longer and see if anyone else objects/agrees, and then we'll be off to grow the glory of the dwarves!

I like 3, but it seems 2 is the favorite. :P

Also preemptively requesting your first Swordsdwarf be named "Carl the Yellow".  Don't have to embark with one, just whenever you get a military started. :D

As for your goal...  Is spot 2 near some of those Mountain Halls that got claimed by minotaurs?  If so, tick off the minotaurs (unless they're already hostile) as soon as you feel confident in your foundations and hold a fort in defense to thin their numbers.  Avenge and honor the dead!

At least at first, this won't be a succession game. If, after a few years, I make it into one, I'll upload the whole save folder (which, as of v31.XX, contains the raws it uses).

As long as the 3 requirements for embark I posted at the top are met, it's fine for you to embark as a swordy. :D

The minotaurs in mountain halls built them; the minotaurs in the dark fortresses nearby will be hostile, however, so there'll be a mix of them. I'll trade with the nice ones for a while, as they can bring some interesting weapons and pets, but might war with them eventually :D
But yeah, I could obliterate the 'evil' ones and end their war, too!

Fernbusts is her last name - "Zon Odkishåblel" - so you can give her a nickname ahead of that. Unless you meant you like "Zon", in which case my bad! :D
I'll change the profession name to "Sexy Mechanic" just for you :P

Well if ya don't mind then I'll take Gemroads, nickname "Carl" and profession "Grumbling Swordsdwarf".  I'll take +5 Swords and +however-much-you-can-spare Dodger.  Also feel free to make him your +0 Miner, at least early on, as there's probably not much for him to do until the military gets going.

EDIT: Oh and if you've got the points a Bronze Shortsword, but I understand that's pretty expensive and we can probably make a better one eventually.
