Warhammer 40,000 on teh Interwebs
« on: May 03, 2010, 10:43:45 am »

So... basically, the title says all. I figured that Gametable would probably work with Warhammer 40K-with some better Pogs, of course. I just want to see if anyone is interested, then run a few smaller games to see how things run.

...So... is anyone interested?

Vassal works much better for 40k.  I would be interested in a game or two, though.

Hmm... I may look into that at one point.

Anyway, started Poging my Marine army. Tactical Squad down, Leader, Terminators and Dreadnought to go.

What is Gametable?

I'd like to try it but I'm not sure how it would work.

Gametable is a program that is basically an online table for playing games-mainly DnD.

Im a 40k noob but i'd be up for some games. Would be cool to have a big campaign going for control a planet or system, though thats probably a bit too ambitious at the moment.

Yeah, you're right.

Either way, I finished my Marine Army pogs. Anyone wanna see them? And while we're at it, is there any units anyone wants me to do for them?

I'm telling you, man.  Vassal already has modular pogs for every unit in the game.  All the wargear, everything.

Aye you might as well use vassal instead of making your own sprites and shit.

I'm not making it up.  Every model in the game, with most of the wargear (Some of it is a little messed up though, pieces in the wrong category and such, it's not a huge problem).  Making gametable pogs is a lot of work when it's already been done for you.  Vassal also has terrain pieces already made.

Vassel 40k is vastly superior to using gametable, not only are just about all the models in it but the dice rolling mechanics and such are already in it. I'm thinking about trying to get back into it now that the 5e nid book is released, can't wait for the tau one.

Actually, are there any better downloads? That one was taking ages, so I cancelled and tried to start again, but it wouldn't let me.
