Well, we want to extract it from phlogisticated air, so we should burn wood/oil in a sealed environment. As long as we have enough wood/oil, it'll stop burning without completely dephlogisticating our wood/oil, and we'll have air completely saturated with phlogiston. We can then extract phlogiston from this air.

Also, we should see if we can't make those damned magical cantrips!

We should start simple, with a spell that makes a candle in our room light up when a specific door is opened.
