Ochita searches the cultists, finding a manual on summoning a greater demon on the lead cultist (5). Saragoth is able to infer (4) that with a few minor incantations, they should be able to summon the demon in their service.

~ In the canyon ~

Stan'la once again locks wills with the dragon (6), overpowering its mind (2). The dragon turns on the wounded hatchling and unearths a gout of acid at it, striking perfectly (5). The hatchling, unable to dodge (6-2=4), is struck and killed (2).

The remaining youngling attempts to flee (2), but is cornered by the adult as it does so (5).

~ In the village ~

Roth speaks to the elves, and they explain that there isn't much of interest in the surrounding area (3) besides their village. Lyndis adds little to the discussion.

~ In the void ~

Heading deeper into the void (5), Xyloth encounters a great force of energy floating near a crack in the void. "Greetings, mage," it says.

Learn how to summon, but try reversing the summoning, as to summon an angel

Join Ochita in his efforts to make certain it is a divine being rather than a demonic one.

Ochita, with the help of Saragoth, work together to learn how to summon a divine being in the wizard's tower. Working together, they find an old manuscript that details the process for them (4+1=5). Now it is simply a matter of performing the rite moves at the right time.

~ In the void ~

Xyloth begins talking with the spirit, which seems to immediately anger it (1). "I must destroy you now," it shrieks. It shoots bolts of pure energy at him, but misses badly (2).

~ In the air ~

Lyndis takes to the air, but the trees cover too much of the area to see anything of use (2).

Roth asks what kingdom the elves belong to (4), and they reply "We were once the rulers of the forest, until the dark forces swept the land. They kidnapped our God-King, Murphis. Now we wait and bide our time until we can free him and return to our glory."

~ In the valley ~

Stan'la, confident that he has the large dragon bent to his will, directs a blast of sound at the last youngling. His aim is slightly off (1+3=4), and the dragon dodges (6).

Trapped by its elder, the young dragon fiercely turns on Stan'la, clumsily biting at him (3). He easily dodges. The elder dragon snaps at the young one (5), and it is unable to avoid the jaws (3). It is lightly wounded (3).

Explain to the elves what our mission is.

Can I gain speech points if I get a 5 or something?

As far as gaining skills go, see this post I put up a way back:

GM Note: When trying to learn a new skill that is +1, you need a 5 on the first turn followed by a success on the next turn. Ergo, Ochita may be able to earn a +1 to dispel magic if he studies again next turn and rolls a 4 or higher. For a +2, two rolls of 5 are needed, then a success. For a +3, three rolls of 5 then a success. A good teacher can reduce the need for one 5, and an excellent teacher can reduce the need for up to two 5s. Similarly, without a teacher getting more than +1 in a skill is very unlikely.
