Question... how long do GMs usually wait for people to post? I haven't run one of these before, so I don't really know.

In my experience it tends to depend on the GM, but generally around 24/48 hours or until everyone has posted (whichever is first), also weekends tend to be slower as people aren't at a pc.

Well then, I'll put a 48 hour limit on responses. If you miss one, your character will either continue his or her last action or do nothing. If you miss two in a row, your character will meet an unfortunate demise.

Agile ExKirby, sensing the good weather, takes up a pole and goes fishing. He manages to hook a large bass, which impresses the townsfolk at the dock. "That's the largest fish we've seen all season," says an older woman. "Certainly, that is a good omen!"

The skilled archer, Nimitz, works to improve his blade skills. While he spends several hours twisting a small knife around, he realizes that he knows very little about blade work and so has no real idea how to get any better.

Saragoth the fire mage asks the storyteller more about the cities and magic of Teric Ora... and uncovers a treasure trove of information from the old man. "There were many cities in the empire... Cadun was the home of many skilled enchanters... Inoc was a major fort where knights trained... Doroth Ora was a major commercial center, home to many skilled tradesmen... a great university was located in the Plains of Forath... and the Mountains of Mull held many dangerous beasts for adventurers to prove themselves against."

Stanla Yousef, a stealthy rogue, heads to the tavern to lighten some pockets. He cuts the purse of a fat, red-faced merchant, who notices nothing. The pouch contains 80 gold coins, a silver compass that glows with magical energy, and a small wooden fife.

The earth mage Lisaca explores the town. A sleepy fishing village, the highlight of the town is a simple shrine to ancestors, surrounded by flowers. Visitors are also usually surprised to learn that the town supports a small blacksmith shop. Those who live in the town are also proud that an ancient wizard calls it home and teaches talented children magical spells.

OOC: General note... skills can get up to +3 to roll.

+1 is someone who could be considered a professional
+2 is almost without peer in that talent
+3 is without doubt the best in the land

Getting to +3 will be quite difficult.

I go to see the ancient wizard, to see if he will tell me of what he knows of Teric Ora, and especially of Cadun and the University. I'll also see if he is willing to fund an expedition to any of these places.

Well, that was a waste of time. In that case, I will practice with my bow & arrow. I'll need to be at my best if I'm going to take on this quest, and what better way to do so than to improve at the skill I already excel at?

Hmm, no visible dice rolls. Was that intentional? If so, that actually helps with the immersion, I think. :)

I'd like to say that I intended to increase immersion, but in all honesty I didn't post rolls because I wasn't aware that they usually were posted.

If it'd help, I can post them, but I can leave them out if not. I guess I kind of figured that the players would be able to judge their relative success based on the writeups. If you have strong feelings on this one way or another, let me know.

Yeah, it's quite common to post them. I'm leaning towards them being present so I can know just how badly I messed up or how awesomely I succeeded, but I'm fine either way.

I like seeing them personally, but it's not a huge deal.

I'm considering setting up a caravan to get funding. I need herbs to do that.

Lisaca travels to the ancient wizard's hut, but the old man is no where to be found (2). She waits around for a few hours, but the wizard doesn't return.

Sargoth arrives a few moments after Lisaca leaves, and is similarly disappointed (3). However, he notices what appears to be signs of a struggle behind the wizard's hut.

Nimitz heads to a nearby field and sets up a straw target for his arrows. He notches his first arrow and prepares to fire a mighty shot, only to have the string snap with a loud twang. The arrow nearly drops straight through his foot (1+1=2), but his skill in archery alerts him to this danger, and his foot remains unskewered.

ExKirby wanders into a nearby field, looking for herbs. He bends down to pick some, when he is overcome by a constricting feeling in his throat... he's allergic (1)! He stumbles back into the village, feeling short of breath (NOTE: -1 to next turn's roll).

Stanla pulls out his fife, and attracts a sizeable crowd (5). As he plans on how to steal from them, they begin to throw silver coins towards his feet. By the end of his song, he has 15 silver coins at his feet.
