No, it's just that Gamemaker does some crazy stuff with variables at times, it seems. So far, I haven't been able use Cheatfinder(something I assume is very similar to Cheat Engine) to memory-hack Iji or Spelunky, and probably a few other GM games I can't remember.

Took a while, but I've got all three normal modes 100% completed.  So anyone that hacked the game for infinite life, anything happen when you beat the hidden fourth mode?

PS tip for reaper drone

Shapeshift into a drone before the fight and the regular drones won't seek you out once they seperate formation.  Makes it easier to isolate the actual reaper.  Plus, focus on avoiding them for the first three formations, since they all blow up when the fourth starts, which is easy to break apart and allow time to shoot the reaper.

PS tip for reaper drone

YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING.

That blows the fourth difficulty WIDE OPEN.  The reaper drone is the only reason why I couldn't beat that without infinite life.  (It would have helped if the Elite leveled you up when you killed it, too.  It's the only boss there that doesn't.)

I mean, without the Reaper Drone being a bastard, it's going to be hard as hell.  But.  Not.  Impossible.  At.  All.  (Especially tool-assisted slow-mo + savestates.  What I'm saying is:  No memory hacking.)

Yeah I beat him on Annihilation mode, and then figured out that trick for hard.  It made it so much easier.

Without cheating though, I'm not sure you can do that in the fourth mode.  You need to be doing it for like 5 seconds for the first one, and about 1 second each for the next two.  5 seconds is definitely long enough for them to kill you to death.

Oh hell.  You're right.  And you can only do it against the FLOOR, not the ceiling.  Plasma Hydra blocks out the whole bottom-right quadrant, really, and the Guardian also keeps you off the floor reeeally good.  The Guardian is one of the last things to kill...you really have to go after Plasma Hydra first, and his final form would make things a whole lot worse for you.

So, forget about that trick, unless there's some way to come into the level with it already turned on.
