I'm so in, if possible. :D
Does that mean you'd like to be in for this coming session, or would you still need to wait a few weeks for exams?  Either way, it's good to have more submissions.  The forest in the background sounds too passive to be the Thornvine.  That puts it somewhere in the great bin of "To be created, with player input."  As for the creature(s), I've got three broad ideas.  1, it could have been a group of humanoids investigating the forest.  2, it might have been an elemental formed by the energy of a nearby portal.  3, perhaps some powerful creature(s) wandered through a portal connected to a vastly different plane.  You can take your pick or let me know that you don't mind the details.
I'd like to play from the beginning. My exams will start on a Monday in two weeks and finish on the Thursday, so I'll be able to play even then (though I may not be able to do much prep for the session in three weeks). :D
Yeah, I was thinking of the Wrathwood as some plane separate to the Thornvine - Thornvine is a new thing to Ramum, and it would probably have been rather deadly to grow up there. :)
And of the choice, if you feel one fits best, I'm fine. Number 2 if that kind of thing seems reasonable, or number 3 is fine.

FFFFFFFFFFFF-
Forum ate my reply. This is what I get for being hideously late.

Well, here we are. Honestly not sure which I'd rather play (though I'm more certain of the goblin mechanically), which I guess is convenient. I'd like to think two characters also justifies the extreme delay a bit, but really I know better.  :P

Personally, I like Shivix more. His backstory is more detailed and interesting than Shargoth's, and mechanically we already have quite a few strikers, but no real defender. I mean, my cleric or IronyOwl's druid could defend reasonably well, but we're not really built for it.

Shivix. My druid chessmastery can help keep things locked next to you, too, so there's a good amount of synergy there.

Eh, I'm not too familiar with what 'striker' and 'defender' and such mean, but it strikes me that balance is a good idea. We've already got three strikers, possibly a fourth, but no defenders.

Virex, that should work.  Although there's one thing in your background that isn't likely in this setting.  "He also pisses off the local clergy by opposing their practice of resurecting people,"  Resurrection doesn't happen all that often (or ever) in backwater villages.  Perhaps we could amend that to be "vocally opposing the theory (dream, hope?) of resurrecting people?"

I swaped that line out for "their practice of "meddeling with fate"". Hopefully everything's OK now. Or at least as soon as I get to swap out heal for endurance which will be tommorow (sorry for the delay.)

Ok.  There are 7 players who've submitted characters.  I can't promise I can run a campaign with 7 players.  But we can try the first session with 6 and we'll see how that works.  An assistant might make 7 practical, or it might be too many people to coordinate either way.

So, the current line up is:

Inmontani, Dragonborn Cleric.  Played by RandomNumberGenerator.
Safia Gemback, Drider Rogue.  Played by Fortis.
Frost Bladecut, Razorclaw Shifter Avenger.  Played by Virex.
Ramum Sorum, Wilden Druid.  Played by Samthere.
Shivex, Goblin Fighter.  Played by Irony Owl. (How dare you make me choose between a barbarian and a fighter.)
A nondescript human.  Played by Pillow_Killer.

Hope to see you all on Thursday.

I'm trying to figure out exactly what the Hamachi is and what we're going to be doing with it. Could someone explain it to me please?

We use it to connect to the GM's session with Map Tools.

Hamachi is a program that greatly simplifies setting up Virtual Private Networks.

In practical terms, it allows you to connect to the Maptool server I'll host.  Normally, this would be a problem because of my ISP, which has made hosting servers difficult/impossible without using something like Hamachi.

Also.  If you can point me to the image you'd like to use for your token, I'll have it finished and ready for play on Thursday.  Alternatively, you can show up on Hamachi and create your token yourself.  As Samthere pointed out, entering the values is a good way to learn the mechanics behind your character.

Are you looking for just profiles or face shots, or did you want a whole dridder picture to use? If it's the former, just use the picture from the sheet I posted.
