Lul. Only two monsters per se (by 4e's core backstory). But yeah, awesomely varied party. :D

Updated my character information in the post linked above. I'd like to hear any remaining questions.

You, sir, have clearly not explored the wonders of ritual casting :D
TENSER'S FLOATING DISC

Yeah, that one looks nice. I was debating between that and Explorer's Fire for my starting ritual(Eventually went with Fire) but I'll probably buy it when I get the money. I also like the one that allows you to copy text magically to duplicate scrolls and such.

I've got Tenser's Floating Disc for now, so we can avoid overlapping at this stage (I'll change to something else if you want, as I'm much better with nature than with arcana). Likely we'll be assisting each others' ritual casting when checks are needed, anyway. Once we get some money, though, you can trivially start collecting all the first-level rituals.
Even at level 15 they can be massively useful. And endlessly hilarious. :D

Mediafire won't let me download at the moment; some server error or something.
However, the best way to get a feel for how a character plays is to try them for a session. Don't worry too much about the precise details for now until you've had a chance to try the system, I think is some of the best advice I can give.
Avengers tend to be pretty fun to play, even when they're not optimised (I got to play one at a game day), and you won't even need to think about your racial powers till you're halfway dead, so it shouldn't be crazy complicated to start.

Nah I was thinking more of traits and skills, since I can't just look them up. I don't suppose there's a handy refrence work for those on the web? ;)

What do you mean by traits? Feats? You can't go wrong with versatile expertise (you choose a weapon group and an implement type and you get +1 to attacks with your choices), though as an avenger you'll be rolling twice to hit most of the time, so it's not quite as useful as it is for all other classes (still pretty useful, though).

You'll necessarily get religion as an avenger, and then a choice of three more.
Perception's never bad, as you've got wisdom. You won't need to take heal as both myself and the cleric will have it.
If dex is your secondary stat, stealth can be very useful, and acrobatics can allow you to escape from grabs and pull off stunts.
Athletics (str) will help you climb, swim, and jump reliably, as well as break out from grabs, so can also be useful.
Beyond that, depending on which of con and cha is higher, you could consider taking endurance (con) or intimidate (cha).
Streetwise (cha) is very situationally useful, and depends greatly on the flavour of the campaign, so isn't such a reliable choice.

In that case I might need to swap out heal for endurance. Will do that asap (don't have acces to the files right now, but they should be up tommorrow)

I'm not much better with Arcana than you are(+1 as opposed to +0) so it would only make a really small difference atm. My main ritual skills are Heal and Religion(Which seem to lack variety in the first three levels... dunno about beyond that, as the limited character creator is my own source of knowledge). Even with the lowest success however, we can still carry an extra 250 lbs of loot, which is nice.

Hmm... I think I remember something about casters being able to exchange spells/rituals(or perhaps I'm just imagining things here). That would certainly make it easier to fill out our ritual books though.

To the best of my knowledge, it only takes 8 hours and a valid ritual book to master a ritual.  It doesn't have to be copied into your personal book.  To cast a ritual, you can use any ritual book containing that ritual.  Again, it doesn't have to be your personal book.

Scary, purely mechanically inclined, optimisation advice starts here.

I'm so in, if possible. :D
Does that mean you'd like to be in for this coming session, or would you still need to wait a few weeks for exams?  Either way, it's good to have more submissions.  The forest in the background sounds too passive to be the Thornvine.  That puts it somewhere in the great bin of "To be created, with player input."  As for the creature(s), I've got three broad ideas.  1, it could have been a group of humanoids investigating the forest.  2, it might have been an elemental formed by the energy of a nearby portal.  3, perhaps some powerful creature(s) wandered through a portal connected to a vastly different plane.  You can take your pick or let me know that you don't mind the details.

Also, thanks a ton for the list of current character submissions.  That helps.

Level_8_Mudcrab, I've got an updated character builder, so even though I don't own a copy of Arcane power I have the relevant information on Focusing Spellfury and Tearing Claws.  I think you haven't chosen your resistance yet, but everything else checks out.  Glad to have your submission.

Sorry about the delay, I'm having trouble coming up with a character I like. Seems I'm more partial to Feylocks than I thought.  :P
That's ok.  It's a soft deadline.  But a late submission will adversely affect your chances of selection, the degree to which I can tie your character into possible events, and how finished your Maptool token will be.

Virex, that should work.  Although there's one thing in your background that isn't likely in this setting.  "He also pisses off the local clergy by opposing their practice of resurecting people,"  Resurrection doesn't happen all that often (or ever) in backwater villages.  Perhaps we could amend that to be "vocally opposing the theory (dream, hope?) of resurrecting people?"

I looked at the optimization guide for Cleric(for the early levels at least) and found my Dragonborn already fits pretty well within the guidelines. What is the description of "Shield of the Gods" Lv1 Daily Power though? It seems like it would fit my build better than Avenging Flame.

I thought i'd already chosen fire as my resistance. I'll fix that tonight when I get home.

I don't really think that a large variety of character races really matters, in a universe linking planes by portals I'd imagine races travelling to different worlds and multi-cultural civilisations would be fairly common.

Also rituals are fun :D

I forgot to add a background bonus for my character. Someone mentioned a 'raised by dwarves' background that gave +2 to endurance. May I add that?
