EDIT: Oh, and ComStar is still owned by the Word of Blake? Man, I hate those fanatics.
I remember those guys from MechAssault and a handful of MW2:M missions. They were assholes. But it was nice snagging one of their mechs and using it against them 2 separate times in MA1. Thor and Ragnarok I believe. Gotta love that magma cannon Ragnarok had. Dwarfiest weapon in the series.

Speaking of which, you have no idea how satisfying it is to KO (or cherry tap/slowly deconstruct) or outright obliterate a titanic mech (like the Atlas or Stalker) with an Elemental or Battle Suit. Most fun I've had in MW2:M instant actions. And just as satisfying in MA1 on the XBOX.

It was nearly equivalent to SotC for DOS when I did that kind of stuff. I miss the good ol' days. Being able to take down a 50-60 ft. mech with a 6 ft. battle suit, armed with 2SRM, M-Laser, and a 5-10 rate Mgun. Absolute definition of a cherry tapdance. It really helps when you blast their kneecaps off before they fire off quad-pulse L-lasers, a few PPCs or 25LRMs that are homing in on you. Mind you, this was all done with keyboard alone.

One of my fondest memories growing up was easily destroying 3-4 Dire Wolves with my PPC-spec Nova in Mechwarrior 2 honor trials.  Not as impressive as using an elemental though, jeez.  One of my unfondest memories was never winning a mission in my friend's copy of Mechwarrior 1.  Freakin Locusts just ran up and humped my Jenner to death from below my field of vision, every time!  I didn't know how to look down :-[

one of my favourite memories of mechwarrior 1 was humping everything to death with a locust. heh heh heh. (if you run up behind them and crash into their legs, they can't even turn around to shoot you before getting their leg blown off)

When you add more mechs, I'll take a Uziel.

I beat most of Mechwarrior 4: Mercenaries with the Uziel, it is my favorite.

My pilot should be better at piloting than gunnery, as that defines how I played.

Okay, Paint schemes are much more limited than I thought. no adjusting hues or contrast or anything like that :(

So people requesting a "firey" paint scheme, you are now wearing the colors of the Draconis Combine.

I did find a way of modifying .mw4 files, I think, using this. No idea if you can add textures, or only modify existing ones.

First post updated with current pilots/ mechs and the waiting list.

Story Time!
The game takes place during the late phases of the FedCom Civil War between House Davion and House Steiner. The Battle tech wiki Has some good info on the conflict. Basically, for us, the more missions we do for one side, the more missions they give us, and the more they pay us. get too low of a rating with either side, and they stop giving you missions. early missions don't affect alignment too much, but later ones can have a significant impact on our ratings

Also, feel free to come up with your own back stories and personalities for your character

I'll take Goof with an Owens. Only missile weapons, each with the maximum recommended ammo load-out. I'll take a Clan LRM20 in the top hardpoint and a LRM15 on my right side. I want enough speed to keep up with the leader, and heavy armor.

well, I accidentally sold the other Owens, and don't have the cash to buy it back, so Gratz! you get the Hellspawn!

Looking at the available tons and what we have available, looks like you can mount two missile racks and a combination of pulse lasers and machine guns, or one missile and the clan AC10, which will give you quite a bit of close range oomph.

Sounds cool. The former setup sounds good to me. Missiles for the win!

By the way, notice that I have the best sensor skill of anyone so far? Should I be a long range guy that hangs in the back with all the sensor equipment?
