Since they'll only be moving around when needed really, adding leaves to protogeneral and protodefenders should at least take a chunk out of their maintenance costs.

Also fourthed.

so it shall be i take this one

 new Body parts plans
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Dna Blueprint created
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Actions and Upgrades
  • Do the repairs. (17.5kg)(leaves and defence vine
  • Rebuild your Scarabs! (buy 48 ProtoWorkers and 30 ProtoWariors) (5.4kg)
  • Take Upgrade Chitinous Protection Carapace I (10kg)
  • Produce 1 protogeneral and 2 protodefeners
  • Upgrade root network(if can take upgrades in installement then)
All this what think we should do.

Day 8 Morning

the losses where horrible...but nothing will stop you. No little bug-lizard-things can manage tow ipe out an entire Hive mind. Instantly you begin to put your biomass to use: your workers run around carrying bits of it to the damaged positions and begin with the repairs....

Day 8 Evening
While your Hive was still vulnerable snorks dared to kill two of your workers and drag them of. This is not acceptable.

Day 8 Midnight
While your at the reproduction of your small hive and the replacment of the losses a sudden flash goes through your mind. A feeling so euphoric that even from your plant form a squeak can be heard.Pictures of a hundred different life forms flash in your brain...it takes you a while to stem the tide and gain control of the chaos, but finall your Mind Network is complete. You try it out and look through the eyes of one of your minions at yourself...highly...disturbing. Encouraged by this your proceed to reproduce the losses...

Day 9 Evening
You finally have replaced all losses and it seems everything can only get better. Inspired by your experience in the body of your minion you begin to devise a carapace to guard your body better. Instantly you begin to change your DNA again...

Day 10 Morning
your now covered completely in a much more secure Chitinous skin. And while you're at changing yourself you put that rotting corpses to  a use: combining the Shrub Dna, the Triffid DNA and The Bug Lizard DNA you produce something new: poison sacks. The next time they dare to attack you again you will explode those sacks and a shower of acid and poison will rain on them...at least as soon as you have grown them...

Day 10 Evening
It has taken you the whole day but you have divised a dozen different new hive creatures, ready to kill. You can't wait to introduce them

Day 11 Morning
The u. Lizard-thing species has returned, this time  even 7. Put you were prepared your ne produced Proto-Defenders, your General and your Soldiers charge on them and although you lose again 20 Soldiers, all 7 of the beasts are killed...

Day 12
Done, Done oh and Done. Your Root Network is complete, every single shrub in the vicinity is under our control/ more or less at least. And as soon as you can see through them, you see what was the giant beast you have felt: it are actually several beasts, weighing 300 kg and being 4 m tall and even 6 m long. They seem like herbivores because they eat every shrub in the vicinity even those under your control...their skin however is highly interesting to you, they're not covered in wool or scales or chitin,no their actually covered in feathers! You think about wheter those things can fly and discard it as ridiculous...

Repairs complete
    several new Designs
    new body part upgrades
    new hive appendages...
    etc. pp.

Create little insects that hide in the shrubs.

If they are eaten they eat their host from the inside out.

Create 500 Protoworkers (25kg of biomass)
Create 500 Protosoldiers (50kg of biomass)
Create 50 Protogenerals (300 kg of biomass)
Create 50 Protodefenders  ( 250 kg of biomass )( ( They are good idea... sorry)
Create 10 Brain triffids (100 kg of biomass)

Order our army to kill all nearby triffids and be ready to fight 300kg thing

Diablous and Bandages we Can't move Brain Underground because it needs Root Network II, Storage Roots II, underground animal DNA and C-S. P. C.

Only required we can upgrade currently is Chitinous Protection Carapace II ( guards from small mammals) Cost: 50 kg Biomass and Chitin-Scale-Alloy Protection Carapace (guards from larger mammals) Cost: 200 kg Biomass
needs C. P. C. II

We also need to find underground animal DNA and find plants that give us Root Network II, Storage Roots II upgrades before can even chance take Brain Underground .

Wait for a moment, do the u. Shrub generate any biomass?

if not make it a green plant then. It would generate more food than we need.

I say we get another general (6), 5 defenders (+50 = 56) and as many harvesters as the remaining mass will let us (there is no cost for them shown). We need more biomass so collectors are essential I think.

Or you know we think about it a bit.Lets see, if we have the knowledge of how to make chitin, and we probably can't go deeper bacause the soil is too hard, we encase the root tips with serrated chitin plates to ease digging, this should enable us to dig trough most of the top soil layers.
Also friggin sapients, within 300 meters, so i second the army breeding idea

update

Lets spend our storage

1) Create 500 Protoworkers (25kg of biomass)
2) Create 500 Protosoldiers (50kg of biomass)
3) Create 50 Protogenerals (300 kg of biomass)
4) Create 50 Protodefenders  ( 250 kg of biomass ) ( They are good idea... sorry)
5) Create 10 Brain triffids (100 kg of biomass)
6) Order 300 soldiers and 15 generals to kill all nearby triffids (50 m radius). Bring gained biomass to us. Rest of the forces should be ready to defend the hive.
7) Design noncombat, mobile,  maximally small and fast transmitter organisms using (scarab DNA + Hive mind DNA)
8) make our leaves toxic using reptilarachnosect DNA

We need a big army NOW. And hunters can bring biomass, too.

Name unknown shrub 'Pampus Grass'

Name Unknown reptilarachnosec 'BugLizard'

New plant Design:
Use triffid Digestion DNA, along with Hive mind Biomass conversion, Pampus Grass Storage sacks and Root network to create a Digestion/Creation center. Instead of taking it to us, out minions take it to these, where they are digested and and then stored or used. Allows us to get Brain Growth II.

Pre-post edit:
Who said anything about nearby sapients?

I assumed the 70 / 1020 was current and total storage, not two separate values we can spend?
