I vote the carnivorous plant becomes our host.

I as well vote for the carniverous plant. While immobile, the ability to trap other species and pull them in makes it an incredibly valuable species to claim.

Makes sense to me.

Infect the carnivorous plant.

The normal way of controlling such games is that the community as a whole controls the single charecter, who, depending on seriousness, either has severe schizophrenia or acts to the popular vote.

I know, it just wasn't clear what we were suppoused to do, thats all.

We choose the Carnivorous plant.

We should always refer to us in the third person from now on.

(Also our hive mind should be named legion, don`t you think?)

We should call ourselves Onslaught.

Better. I vote for this. And what shall we call this planet?

OOC:Sorry my fault about that...
@Ochita: Name idea taken, the plants name is now Triffid...

The different framents of OUR mind collectively decide that neither the blade-like long shrubs nor that fox-like mammal would suffice as a host. It takes US some minutes in your current form to approach the plant. Because of OUR size you fall not in the food-pattern of the plant and therefore the vines don't mind US. As WE finally reach the enormous plant, WE sense that the plant is overrun by small insects which have a resemblance with scarabs. They seem to ignore US as they climb through a small hole in the cocoon shaped body to join the feast on the dead fox-mammal. WE prepare OUR body for the infection procedure, a very unpleasant kind of action but in OUR position necessary. OUR whole body tenses as WE propell yourself with high speed onto the Triffid's body.

OUR body splashes onto it's outside and instantly OUR body cells leave their current form and merge with the plant's body. It doesn't takes more than 10 seconds and WE have taken control over the creature. a bypasser wouldn't have sensed the difference except for a unwell feeling and that the plant has a unusal(usual coloring would be blueish) shade of brown-red. An euphoric feeling overcomes US as WE merge with the plant. It's like changing from black-white 20cm diameter tv to a 4m diameter hd Plasma tv.

Your senses can now give US far more information, OUR body functions are much more complex and WE realize that WE are now able to produce(at least in a small scale) OUR first "minions". After WE have rearranged some of OUR DNA, changed some of the sensorial perception, and modified the chemical composition of OUR digestional acid WE can save and reuse the DNA of consumed Lifeforms. In the moment WE have finished this the fox-mammal carcass is added to OUR DNA-Library and WE realize that if WE use the structure of the fishtail WE can additionally to eating large mammals gain biomass by evolving Leaves for photosynthesis.

WE also recognise that the scarab-like insects are still using US as food gathering place. As their Chitin-carapaces make them invulnerable towards OUR digestion acid. However if WE would change it's composition...

gained Triffid body
    gained Triffid DNA
    gained unkown Mammal DNA
gained Level 3 Lifeform Detection (increases range)
gained Level 2 Ground Sensoring(you can hear ground vibrations)
    gained Level 1 Defense Vines
    gained DNA Cartographer

I say we get the chitin destroying acid.

EDIT: And stop using all-caps for personal pronouns, it's annoying.

Seconded. It might seem less useful, but it's less of an overt change. For all we know, we might be right next to a settlement, and they might enjoy the destruction and study of oddities. Our color makes us different enough. I think we should get the insect DNA, then create some insect minions to scout the local area.

Can we infuse the scarabs with the fox DNA? That was they would be larger and more capable of bringing back better food into our body.

If we can, I vote for that.

If not, I say we start evolving leaves so we can get more solar energy and grow.

EDIT: and I say we call the foxes "snorks" because that is cute.

Not to mention its a bit wierd.

I'd say go for photosynthetic leaves, it won't attract much attention since we are already a plant.
